Thank everyone that has given their ways of how to do it . I appreciate you. When I bought my Tacoma it was the first foreign vehicle I had ever owned knew nothing about it. It is a 98 Tacoma SR5. It has a 3.4 manual transmission with rear lock . this was a commercial truck with a utility bed, heavy duty springs and was in a minor accident . company owners Parked it in the back of the lot and it sat there for a while with less than 100,000 miles on it. In 2004. It got a new hood right side fender radiator fan and of course lighting utility bed removed and put a regular box tailgate in chrome bumper and started driving it through the years. I put some parts on it alternator done a water pump timing belt change at 300,000 the belt had a date stamp on it. It was the original belt and in good shape. I couldn’t keep rear axle bearings in the left side. After the third attempt, I found out that my vent was stopped up after reading some forums so thank you I’ve done the black wire mod. I rerouted the vent up into my gas lid. It has a cold air intake tube. It had a 6040 bench seat and I found a truck with bucket seats and console switch them out that’s about all I have done to it except gas and oil my running gear has red line fluid and I was very impressed with the change it made switching to red line synthetic I am at 390,000 miles in my throw out bearing is starting to rattle and changing gears are starting to be a hassle so I have ordered a clutch kit.from Toyota A friend of mine has a lift in his garage and he said bring it on down and we’ll put that clutch in. I told him I appreciated that but first I have to change my valve cover gaskets because they are leaking and it is a mess underneath there so this past weekend that’s what I done ,valve cover gaskets. Everything that I have bought is from Toyota they are pricey and proud, but I figure if it can go this long that many miles why not put the same thing back in it my truck still runs like brand new it feels like it would pull a skyscraper down but stopping it would be a different story in a lightweight truck. I had the recall on the frame twice, they didn’t fix it either time three or four years after the recall was over I replaced the frame myself not too bad of a job, but it would’ve been nice if they would’ve done it or bought it now I wouldn’t have sold it to him them suckers. I also own a third generation forerunner she’s sweet. I just done a timing belt water pump on it and that timing belt was wore out at 330,000 miles. I’m glad I didn’t go anywhere in it.

Thanks bro. I have visited many times in search of things to keep truck rolling.I will brag on truck drive train and the 3.4L . 380K miles parts are tired and worn .Ive replaced knuckle parts LH and RH , Inner and outer tie rod ends, left hand and right hand the driveshaft support bearing. I’m thinking three times still running the original pressure plate throw out burn and disk, but that’s getting ready to be changed here in a couple weekends. My rocker panels are gone and I have both sides off of another truck in the barn. I’m not a body man by no means but I think I can cut the old out and cut the new to fit but that bad as far as I can go with that project. The rear lock quit working only because I didn’t use it enough to keep it from corroding so anybody that has one that is working play with it once a week keep it loose
