Kings 2.5 = more steering feedback? Normal?

Installed a set of Kings 2.5 w/out resi about a month ago and I noticed a lot more steering feedback when driving over rough dirt roads. Does that sound pretty normal?

I haven't driven it much since the install, but I notice it on this one particular part of the dirt road where the neighbor filled all the potholes with larger than I'm used to seeing pebbles / rocks along with spreading that love throughout the road. I don't seem to get much steering feedback on other parts of the dirt road though.

    Truck is a 22' with 8K miles
Kings 2.5 with 600lb coils, preload set to roughly 1.5" of lift and the back has a 1" block
    265/70/17 Baja Boss ATs
Had a lazy alignment done (lazy as the tech only corrected toe since everything else was in the "green". I would've told them to take it back and adjust Camber / Caster better but I was already getting yelled by the wife for running late the family event, so I told myself next time when I move up to 285s I'll ask for a better one)

Anyway, was just curious if this was pretty normal when moving over to Kings or any other off road suspension.

I installed basically the same King coilovers a week ago along with 265/70-17 BFG KO2's, got it aligned, and experienced the same thing. Since I changed two things at once I'm not sure which made the difference but in any case the steering feel is a lot different.

Ok so sounds like this might be pretty normal. Stiffer suspension = more feedback.

This question has probably been answered 10,000+ times on tacomaworld but since this thread is going I'll ask here: how much caster is "enough?" I do have SPC UCA's. The tech who did my alignment knew how to adjust them, and set caster to around 3° (guessing a bit at that, I don't have the printout handy.) I was a little surprised, I'm used to a much bigger number, like around 6° or more. But all my experience is with solid front axles, I've gone so far as to cut welds on inner C's off so I can rotate them back to get what I want.

I’m running Kings also. Super smooth on and off-road. Tires 265/75/16 Falken Wildpeaks AT4W. What tires you running? PSI? I don’t get any feedback back smooth like butter

OP- you’ll always feel more feedback through the steering wheel with any coilover that uses a uniball(Kings/Fox) instead of a rubber joint(oem/Bilstein). Stock rubber mounted shocks “soak up” the small steering inputs, uniballs are rigid and thus have feedback. Tire PSI will help with this, but the steering will always have more feedback than a stock configuration. I run Kings and Deavers.

Ditto on the uniballs vs rubber bushings. It makes a huge difference.

Last time I checked, I was running 32 front and back. Overall, it's super smooth I was just curious about getting more feedback through the steering.

    Good to know!
