Ok, I called my Toyota dealer parts guy. I just bought a 2025 Tacoma SR Crew Cab 5 foot box and want to put a set of Toyota OEM rocker protectors part #925-35242 on it to cover those spot welds. He said I’ll have to call you back.
He did an hour later and he claims that part is for a TRD PRO only and will not fit my SR (according to his computer). He said he could order it and if it doesn’t fit I have to eat the price.

Has anybody put a set of these on an SR Crew Cab? I really don’t want to eat it if it doesn’t fit.

A more relevant title would be super appreciated when you're posting a new thread. Maybe something like "Question on rocker protector fitment"?

The current title makes it sound like you got swindled, which I think most would agree is overstating the situation.

They should fit just fine but are more than likely listed as not fitting since it is not OEM equipment for it. Also check market place for take offs.

Looks like Access Cab (C) vs Double Cab (D).

I see it listed as "D" on some websites as well. Are these the one that go outside covering your exterior rocker panels? If so, the hybrids have a bracket at the exit point where wiring comes out. Just aft of the rear doors. The Pro is a hybrid. This might be the conflict.

Parts guy should be able to get you the ones that fit. Or you can get the Pro fitted ones and chop it short.

True, the access cab is different, the front doors are the same, though.

edit: There is no difference between trim levels.

Surprised no one has made the following comments:

    1. Rocker Protectors is a bit of a misnomer. They're made of aluminum and there is almost a foot of "rail" that extends forward of the first bracket. Pretty sure that will bend and contact the rocker on the first strike. "Spot Weld Hiders" would be a more appropriate name.

    2. Description says it will protect the frame. The Rocker Protectors are above the frame so I don't see how they would provide any "frame" protection.

It's like the hood scoop. Looks cool but functionally useless. Yeah, I'm bashing my own ride. Not planning on doing any rock crawling but if I were, I would swap them out with the TH rails. I may do that anyway.

I added it on my mine because I want to protect my lower panels from rock and debris being kicked up by my front tires that are poking out. I’m not rock crawling either and it’s mostly for protection against possible rock chips.

So do you think they will fit my SR? The dealer parts guy has me somewhat gun shy.

I don’t know. Do you know if your crew cab is smaller than a double cab? If so then your parts guy may be right. The bolts need to align perfectly below to the holes they are already there below the rocker panel.

The rockers on my double cab measure 72.5" from the seam at the front fenders to where it starts to curve around the back of the cab. The rocker protectors about 75" long, extending past the back edge of the front fender about 2" and the rocker edge at the back by 1/2". The first set of bolt holes are 9 3/8" from the rocker/fender gap. The next set of holes are 20.5", then 19.5", then 10".

Thank you so much for these measurements. I have a double set of bolts on my SR double cab exactly where your measurements came in. I assume these are the bolt holes to attach the rocker protectors?

You can see the bolt patterns from the actual rocker panel here. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/trd-pro-rocker-protectors.842155/

I wish they made them for the 3rd gen I would buy them in a minute to hide the ugly pinch welds.

I’m surprised no aftermarket companies have them. Even carbon fiber ones.
