I feel like I have 100lbs sitting on my chest can't shake the feeling. Not sure were and why this episode came from but it's crushing my mentality. Like a sinking ship with zero escape. This shit sucks

Do you have a history of Panic attacks? If you want, pm me some of the symptoms you are experiencing and I might be able to teach you a couple of quick things that you can do to lessen the severity.

Anxiety has to be the worst thing I left the military with(besides a divorce that left me with no money and relationship trust issues) If anyone ever needs to talk, just reach out. It’s not some thing you should go through alone. On a side note, dogs really do help!. Two outta three for reference.

You dudes should get your hormones checked as well. I wanted to hit the off button for almost 3 months, then found out after a few bouts of Covid that my testosterone was shot. Night and day difference. Best of luck to everyone battling!

I haven't relaxed since mid January, sleep is short and crappy, I'm beyond frayed... At this point I'm convinced the only reason I'm still functioning is purely out of spite and caffeine.

Exercise is excellent for both depression and anxiety. I highly recommend it to all of my patient's. It releases natural endorphins that combat both depressed and anxious feelings.

I've been going to the gym on Dover AFB, M-F after work.

Of course, some folks may not like the environment but I've learned to focus on my health needs more so than focusing on what others do...at the gym.

I've been debating jumping into this thread as I certainly haven't experienced what many other have. That said, I'm on my own journey, and maybe this info will be useful for someone else.

I've been dealing with anxiety and depression that got bad back in 2019. I did the usual, try to ignore and suppress. Fast forward a year or so, my primary doc prescribed me and anti-depressant. It helped a bit. Fast forward a bit more and I finally reach the point of deciding I needed to actually see a psychologist. I couldnt keep putting myself and my fiance through these emotional ups and downs. That has been an eye opening experience.

Based on what I've discussed with my psychologist: While testing revealed I do deal with anxiety and depression, the root cause ended up being ADHD - primarily inattentive type (other types are impulsive, hyperactive, and combined). I had developed sufficient coping mechanisms to "mask" or compensate for the symptoms to function at work and in daily life, but i was playing on hard mode. But anxiety, depression, OCD tendencies, and other symptoms are often outcomes of masking to cope with undiagnosed ADHD. So, still in early stages of therapy and looking at meds.

I wouldn't want others to deal with the mental BS I've dealt with. So maybe this can be encouragement to someone to look into things more.
