I was actually looking at their two 2023 V4s, just called them though and they both have prospective buyers, with a couple backups. I put down a backup deposit anyways so we'll see what's what.

There's a white V2 at a dealership here in SD that I'm gonna go check out tonight after work too.

    My man!!

If you haven't already, maybe speak to Victor at MotoClub. He owns both MCLA and the Ducati dealership in Santa Barbara.

Edit: Ducati SB is closed, but I see a lot of Ducati's move through his LA shop along with all the Apes.

I'd be willing to bet the BMW acquisition is more likely.

Yeah their debt settlement payment is due at the end of the month. Production was supposed to start but stopped since they dont have parts (assumption manufacturing plants arent willing to play ball on "credit"). Another company/person laid claim to some of pierers stock also this week as payment for a loan pre-bankruptcy filing

Right right. It will be interesting to see how this all unfolds or folds-up.

They (can-am) just came out a few months ago with the Pulse and Origin, which are electric motorcycles that look actually pretty promising. Only 100 mi range but are doing a lot of other things right. I went onto their website to get the names of the bikes, I couldn't remember, and also saw this honking 3 wheeler they make now.

    upload_2025-5-7_8-42-58.png

    ADV AF!

    https://can-am.brp.com/on-road/us/en/models/3-wheel-vehicles.html

CanAm/BRP makes sense though, they can instantly expand their portfolio and add gas engines, they're already dipping their toes into street legal electric.. BMW would be interesting, but they have competing products for everything except the dirt bikes and sumo, so it'd be odd. I wonder what all they'd cut.

Edited to add a Fortnine review of the can am electric bike:

Is that the DL800? One of my FJR friends just got one to replace the BMW GS1250 that he crashed. He's been loving it. Lots of good things to say about it.

1050 i do like the 800 but i ran into someone who had the 1050 when i was in arkansas and talked with him about it. ended up liking it a lot and id go for the street version not the dirt version. idk if id sell the bolt/trade it in or just save up and buy it as another bike.

his passenger said its super comfy and great for long distance.
