Sharing this on behalf of the OF4WD who is asking for help. If you are interested let me know and I can coordinate your contact and info with Sarah. I would need to let her know by Friday April 25-Saturday April 26.

Unfortunately this does interfere with the Ardbeg cleanup SOTEC is hosting so many of the SOTEC group is there. But if you wanted to get out for the weekend and help out here is another way.

The email as received from OF4WD to the club heads.

“As many are aware of the devastating ice storm, and the clean that inevitably is following, we are looking for volunteers to help us clean up the Kinmount Fairgrounds on the May 3/4 weekend.

This venue has become not only the home of the OF4WD Newbie Runs, but our biggest event each year, Camp NL. Help is needed clearing the area of debris from the storm. We are looking for people with trailers, to move brush and simply hands on site for the clean up.

We are confirming if camping is available

Please RSVP with group numbers as we will be providing Lunch and Dinner on Saturday to thank our volunteers for this massive clean up of this massive project.

    We appreciate all help.

“Thanks to everyone who came out this past weekend to support our ongoing cleanups—both on the trails in Haliburton & Kawartha and at Kinmount Fairgrounds.

We want to give a special shoutout to the volunteers from Central Ontario 4x4, Georgina Jeep Club, and Barrie Jeep Club who have worked tirelessly to help start clearing Picard, and Concession. Your hard work made a serious impact.

And a huge thank-you to the team from Canadian Nissan Truck Club, Ottawa Jeep Club, Central Ontario Off Road Jeep Club, Staang's Fab, along with individual members, trail guides, and board members who joined in at Kinmount. The amount of brush and debris moved was incredible, and it was your energy and commitment that made it happen.”

The kawartha area is in extremely rough shape and they are still requesting some help. 25 minute trails are taking 7 hours to get through with the amount of tree removal needed.
