I'm back in the house cuz I have to read up on how to raise and lower those lower arms..
But the pins supplied with the QH for the lower arms look like they'll fit with no problem. But there was no pin supplied to attach the top of the QH to the tractor, so it looks like I'll need to make a trip to Tractor Supply later. What is that pin called?

When I head back out I'll bring my phone to take a few pictures . . .

 

Top link pin, should be 3/4" on that one. A regular top link pin may be too short though depending on the bracket where it connects at the top. May have to get a trailer pin if a short one won't work

 

You're looking for a CAT 1 toplink pin. You might be able to borrow one from another implement to get started.

 

I guess this is the lever to raise and lower those arms. It doesn't look like the picture in the owner's manual, and I thought I remembered being told this was some kind of cruise control or something when I first bought the tractor.
I don't have any other implements to steal parts from. I do have a large bolt that I plan to put in just to get it hooked up. I don't have anything to use back there until the stump grinder comes on Monday. I also have a big trailer pin that I found around here after we moved in, but it's too large a diameter to fit the hole. The pins that came with the quick hitch for the lower arms are also too big for the hole. So it must be three quarter inch I guess like @six5creed said.

So I figured out a way to do it by myself... hernia notwithstanding . . .

 

I notice an extra piece of wood on the right side. I'm guessing this was done to bring the QH level with the lower arms.


If you twist this turn buckle screw here you can adjust the height of the right arm and bring it level with the left side. That way your QH and implement will be level starting out.


Also it looks like the lock nut on this turnbuckle is not set. You might want to lock it in place, because they can tend to rattle loose and fall off when you're driving around the field.

I had to loosen one side turnbuckle to get the distance right between the levers. And the right side is currently a little higher, that's why the extra wood spacer. In the year that I've had the tractor this is the first thing I've done that uses anything on the back. I do see there is the right size pin for the top link holding what I think is called the draw bar. It's just sitting in there currently without a cotter pin. It appears long enough if I use it, but the cotter pin will be right against the side of the upright metal on the quick hitch. I don't know if it would be better if the pin was a little longer?

 

If the pin will fit and you can get a lynch pin in it, it should be fine if it's close to it

It's not the pin that holds the drawbar in place is it? If so leave it and put a clip in it and get another one for the top.

 

I figured I would wait until I get a proper pin and have everything hanging on its own before I try to do any leveling and to check the upright. Do you guys think this pin is acceptable? I can probably find a cotter pin around here somewhere.

 

Pretty sure that is the pin that holds your draw bar in. You can use it but you'll probably have to take your drawbar out.

Yes it is the pin that holds the draw bar in place. I've only used the drawbar once, to put a trailer ball on it to tie a chain to to drag a giant piece of stump. Don't mind me, but I don't really know what a drawbar is used for otherwise..

 

As Creed said, you can get by with that for now. But I'd get the correct pin at TSC, I certainly would not do any work with that all thread you have in the picture.

 

I've never actually used the draw bar on my tractor, but it's still there. I had a BIG shackle on the end of it for a long time incase I wanted to pull something like you did. But after not using it for many years I finally just took it off.

 

Mine still has a clevis in it where I hooked a chain to it to pull a tree.........8 months ago

 

Yeah for sure. I just put the piece of threaded rod through there to have "something" to hold it so I can move the tractor out of my shop without concern that the QH will flop over. But I'm think a trip to Tractor Supply today rather than tomorrow... cuz we need deer corn too, and tomorrow they're calling for 80% storms again. Our deer that visit have been going through about 18 pounds per day. Yeah, I know . . .
