I have something odd to share and would like to see if it means anything to you, the experts and folks familiar with the ins and outs of 3rd generation Tacomas. Recently, I noticed that the inside of my 2023 Tacoma Sport’s windshield needed frequent cleaning due to streaks and a very minor haze. Despite using Windex and a paper towel, I can’t seem to keep it clean. My worst-case concern is that there could be a cooling system issue causing this phenomenon. Any ideas?

As always, thank you in advance!

Nope. Mine still does this. I was thinking it was from the interior materials gassing off.

Monthly cleaning is the norm as it keeps fogging down.

Thanks All! ...not a smoker or toker. ...no essential oils, air fresheners, either.

It could possibly be a leaking heater core. Does the stuff on the windshield seem like water or could it be coolant?

Well, I'm just not sure. It doesn't seem to be oily or such. Assuming the factory coolant has color, nothing shows on the paper towel and I don't smell anything (I've got an above average sense of smell) --I need to see the dealer for Tonneau cover rubber. I will inquire about my windshield concerns then, too.
    THANKS!

My 2005 still fogs up the windshield. Did it from day one. The only way I was able to stop it was putting a Dash Mat in the truck. But here in New Mexico saves the dash anyways. It seems with all the Plastic if you don't put the windows down just a little bit these trucks off gas a lot.

FWIW I just ran my question through AI and received this answer: "The source of inside window issues on Toyota Tacomas is often attributed to off-gassing from interior materials, such as plastics and vinyl, which can create a film on the glass. This phenomenon is more noticeable in newer vehicles."

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
If it were coolant, you'd smell it.

When I got window tints on both our vehicles, I was advised to use this product...works Great!

Oh!, and I have not had any issues with steaking on the inside/outside of the windshield.

Gassing off was my old assumption. All of our stuff seems to gather a haze these days no matter the age. Not sure what causes it.

The mixed setting is my typical (one just before A/C is forced on), but I do not use A/C 99% of the time.

My 2018 still likes to haze up the inside of the windshield, but not as much as it used to. Seems like more in the summer than the winter, which makes sense I suppose. You'd think the plastic would be done out-gassing by now, but I guess not.

Edit: Just thinking, I almost always use a sun shield in the summer when parked in the sun, maybe related to that as well.

I have the same issue on my camry and tacoma and use a sun shield 100% of the time.

I don't know which one i hate most, cleaning the inside of the front windshield or changing the oil.
