Ok so I went to change my throw out bearing, pressure plate, and so forth. The removal and installation process went smooth with the help of one of my buddies! Upon reinstallation all went well and I was just about down to the last part(reinstalling the shift knob). I am catching absolute hell!!!! Knob will not grab the neutral position for love nor money!
Cranked the truck after bleeding the clutch and all is working fine except when I release the clutch the truck is in reverse instead of neutral!
Is there anyway possible I can install the shift with the truck being in reverse?(because it seems near impossible!)
Or is there a way to manually remove the tail housing of the transmission and get it back into neutral?
    Someone please help!!!

If I remember correctly you can take the cover off the top of the trans and you should see 3 rods with a slot in each and they should all be even. It has been too many years for me to remember if there is an interlock pin between the shift rails for reverse.

I had this happen on a new 928 that was rear ended... someone on the assembly line forgot to put the springs and interlock pin between the 1-2 and 3-4 shift rails and when it was hit from behind the inertia forced the trans in 2 gears at the same time. Porsche sent a "pro" from Reno to investigate, Reno was the distribution point back then for all things Porsche. On the next flight of cars there was an envelope with the shuttle pin and 2 small springs. What are the odds of these 2 events happening...

I got it! Pulled the reverse switch from the drivers side of transmission, used a small flathead screwdriver and manually shifted the truck back into neutral by pushing the rod towards the rear of the vehicle! Thank you for your input bro!
