I just got a '23 SR5 extended and I'd like to add a little protection from rear tires slurping crap onto the frame and things. No one seems to have any for years prior to
    24. Any ideas?

All the crap that gets kicked up goes between the composite bed and the fender. I know it’s a normal thing on these trucks, I’ll probably take the topper off and seal it all up. IMG_5706.jpg IMG_5707.jpg

That’s a losing battle I’m afraid. I have a soft tonneau but just accept that the bed isn’t water proof. Idk about the wheels being a source of water in there, but there’s lots of posts about people trying to waterproof the area

edit: ooohhhh I appreciate those pics!! I see what you mean now! I was trying to imagine how water from the wheel wells would get in the bed. I still get those streaks but never seen them that bad.
I’m actually planning on cutting some plastic sheeting to bridge the gap from the well liners to my bumper, because my aftermarket rear bumper leaves my BSM exposed from the back. I imagine that would cut down on the spray that gets up in the quarter panel and drips through the bed rail.

It’s pretty bad, I’ve owned the truck since new and it’s always been that way on the left side. The right side really doesn’t do it much for what ever reason. I know it’s a truck and not an SUV but having the bed somewhat dry would be nice. I’ll probably pull it apart and seal it up at some point.

Definitely dig around here for tips! There’s a couple threads that go into great detail about waterproofing the bed. I found them when I was looking into it prior to giving up.
Pulling and sealing the bed rail caps is where “nope”ed out, but I think that would probably alleviate this

It looks like your oversized tires sling creates the mud. The only wetness I get is from the drain holes for the side compartment from the bed and the hinges. I mounted my bed lighting power and waterproof switch there and try to keep water out. I also think the seal from the bed cover allows the sling in. What does the side of the truck look like? Muddy?

I have this exact same thing going on - left side only.

Unfortunately there isn’t much to do from behind, I was thinking it would be nice to run some sort of tape to seal it off but even if it’s super sticky and rubberized where it can conform to everything I think it would just harbor water and junk. Probably not a good solution.

Maybe a bead of silicone would work?

What you are seeing there is that there is no seal between the composite bed and the metal fenders.

The possible leak points are of course your supplied topper, the plastic bedrails on top of the Swiss cheese metal bed rails and the lack of any sealing to the composite bed. All must be sealed for a reasonably dry bed. The stock fender liners do an adequate job, but they do not extend to the rear corners.

I’ll probably just pull the topper at some point and report back. I bet it just needs a total silicone job in the factory bed components. I’m not sure if it’s the winter/summers in Idaho or just comes with age but my stop light on the topper is starting to drip and the factory installed Yakima tracks drip too. I bet the seals are just shrinking up. I tried tightening stuff but it still leaks. I guess I just need a total topper over haul
