Even if its not a "pap" i can jerry rig some of the original wiring onto the new seats to mimic air bag functionality. I found a decent video with the same idea but different seats.

You should be able to swap the OCS from the taco seats into the 86 seats no problem. It was super straightforward for my driver side, just had to swap the harness and seatbelt clicker over. Passenger side is where it gets odd on the 3Gs because of the weight sensing system, 2G doesn’t have any of that, right? So should be easier

Hey, im about 87% sure that the BRZ seats can raise, even on the passenger side. I rode in the back of a BRZ a few times, and we could raise the pass. seat so my feet could go under the passenger seat.

Also, helluva an idea to get FRS/BRS seats that already have the heated seat option. Seems like a more elegant option than using an aftermarket setup.

I installed the seats, could do a few more adjustments plus shampoo them but wanted to make sure they work. My truck doesn’t have seat airbags so this swap was justifiable, but the sensors for the passenger seat don’t work even after clamping them all tight. I haven’t attached the seatbelts to them yet but do they need to be buckled in for airbags to be activated? Either that or they aren’t connected or clamped together well enough.

    Update:
I rewatched the video and saw where they were clamped in a different spot so I moved the clamp over and it worked. Guess the sensors are touchy and you only need to have one clamped down.IMG_4475.jpgI’m pointing at where I had it clamped and now the clamp is on the correct spot

Finally all cleaned/installed. This is for a no airbag option or for trucks that don’t have the airbag option in the seats for a smoother “plug and play”

Driver seat is the easier of the bunch but has two cords to deal with. The seat position sensor for the front airbag and buckle.
    IMG_4490.jpg

Passenger will only have one. The entirety of the seat includes the passenger detection system and buckle.
    IMG_4491.jpg

Assuming you know how to take your seats out, and have some aftermarket mounting brackets, I’ll skip ahead some.

Disassemble the rail for the passenger seat (need to do to take the weight system completely off) and seat belt buckle. Start by clamping off one of the sensors just like this, so the detector goes off and airbags stay on
    IMG_4493.jpg IMG_4494.jpg

You might think it’s easier and will take up less space to remove the bracket holding the sensor but the bracket is a part of the sensor, it’s one piece. The circuitry & sensor are glued onto a park of the bracket.

Now that everything is connected to the seat. You can clip some of the sensors onto the existing clip holes on the new seat.
    IMG_4495.jpg(Top 3 sensors/clips are unused)

I used the FRS seat belt buckle and tucked the Tacoma buckle under the seat to act as a dummy belt. You can used a dummy clip to disable the belt warning light
    IMG_4496.jpg

Passenger seat is done and ready for mounting. Driver seat is a little easier. The position sensor needs to be wrapped around one of the rails for detection. It has to be metal. You can zip tie it to be secure. Mine is tucked under the seat next to a sliding rail
    IMG_4499.jpg

The rest is straight forward as you can again use the Tacoma buckle and use it as a dummy and clip onto existing spots for both sensors
    IMG_4500.jpg IMG_4501.jpg IMG_4502.jpg

You can now mount seats in the truck!
