Tried to complete a DIY oil change this morning. Even with my 25 inch breaker bar, the only thing I managed to move was this nickel-length hunk of the filter housing. Any ideas for an in situ repair that might hold for at least a few miles?

If you made a crack or a hole in the housing I wouldn’t trust anything but a new filter housing.

Not leaking now, but that's because all the oil in it leaked or drained out...

Me neither.....The problem is that I need to get to someone who has enough torque to install a new one...(Don't know what the heck the dealer did to get this one so tight....)

Yeah, I've seen these recommended. Should I just ignore the red message from Amazon that says "This product does NOT fit your 2020 Tacoma"?

Yes, they have not updated there years put in 2018 Tacoma 3.5 and it will show that it fits. It will not break tabs but with one as tight as yours use the 24mm socket and a breaker bar.

25" bar is alot of torque. Are you sure you did not get disoriented which direction to lose the cap? Check markings on the cap which direction to turn while lying on the floor

Lubbock. I'm probably just being too stingy-- not wanting to cough up the cost of a rental car....

That had occurred to me; it is a standard thread (lefty-loosy, righty-tighty) right?

That"s what I gather from a few youtube videos....

Looking at the housing from the floor, yes. Looking up at the truck, clockwise is tighter.

People unfortunately end up using a hammer and punch when they are badly seized. You will almost definitely destroy the housing doing so. Buy a replacement; plastic or aluminum.

Stock wheels and suspension. Random "utilitarian" mods featured on this great forum.
If/when you get one, it's also good to put a tag or something thin in between the housing and filter wrench for even more grip. Others on the forum have ended up chiseling their caps off when this happened.

I'm assuming dealer changes up until now? I have not done any of the Toyota care changes and from the factory, it took very little effort to move the housing.
