Pretty rough before I started . These were run hard and put away wet.

The good thing is, grinding and cleaning produced the pattern unlike others I have to try to match.
So the repairs look 3D/Reflection instead of a slightly mismatched color. You can see a repair by the rear hoof.

These are going to be used hard.

    From the interwebs:
A sun halo, also known as a 22-degree halo, is a ring of light that appears around the sun due to sunlight refracting off ice crystals in high-altitude cirrus clouds. These halos are typically white, but can sometimes exhibit faint colors, often with red on the inside and blue on the outside.

    Looks great!

Funny, there are very few things that one would have restored just to immediately throw repeatedly at hard objects.

Oh I know. As long as it looks good when they get them that’s all I care about. My comets look like like they were thrown down a dirt road.

    i'm experimenting in the kitchen.

todays experiment, crock pot brisket. beef broth as a liquid, with a tin foil boat for the brisket to keep it minimally dry. all the official channels say to only use a smoker or oven only. i think the trick is to not tell the meat what's heating it!

Today was the day to raise the property drive by from "abandoned" to "poorly maintained".

Fired up the old New Holland and got at it.

    ...not without issues naturally...

I hoped to get just one more season out of this belt, it has been very thin for the last two years.

If the cutter deck sucks up a piece of old tarp it sounds remarkably like an old VW Beetle engine.

Tired of the rainy weekends....Spent this one vacuuming the pool in the rain. Haven't been able to work at the farm for two weeks.

I hear you. The last two Saturdays it has rained for the majority of the day. I need a few dry Saturdays to get my storage unit cleaned up and neat. So I can move the rest of my stuff out of the old house.

i'm absolutely convinced that the mayan's got the calendar wrong when they created it out that far, and we're exactly 3 months behind on seasons(it's why most snow now shows up after january for me), and 3-4 days off on weekdays.

it's the only reason i can make sense of the seasons being so far off, and it so consistently being great weather during the work week, but horrific half the time on the weekend.

but i really shouldn't complain too much though. right now my area is averaging in the 60-70's during the day with no rain, but with a strong north wind that makes it feel like 45-50's. i keep joking it's colder in the open, and warmer in the shade next to buildings.

i'm calling it a success! the typical smoker flavor is lacking, but it's otherwise a really good cut. it needs barbecue sauce, but that's normally half the point of brisket...

i was going to have it for dinner, but ended up putting it all in the fridge. it seems far more entertaining to eat it at work next week in front of everyone else.

btw, it was aldi, salt and pepper seasoned brisket

they've got another bbq seasoned brisket that i'll try next week. could go either way. their other pre-packaged stuff, i don't care for the knockoff sauces they use.
    https://www.aldi.us/product/bbq-seasoned-brisket-0000000000044840

and yes, my countertop and plates are from the 70's, back when they were still quality!
