I need a door and I might have another project. It's already got the seats.

Got it home. I have no idea what it is. The top half of the window actually still tilts, the bottom is frozen for the moment. I think it was a 4 door, it has hinges still attached on one side for the rear doors. The hinges still operate. Driver door is welded shut, so someone started something.

Maybe @RustyGreen would know? If he would be kind enough to chime in with his expertise, I would appreciate it.

The bullet hole stays, it may have been involved in a bank robbery...

    Just a guess, 1927 ford. edit: possibly a 1925 or 1926.

I do not recommend cutting concrete when possible to avoid.

    My guess is a Studebaker.

    I don't believe it is a Ford.

The shape of the cowl is wrong for a 25, closer for the 26-7 however there is no pop up air vent, the dashboard is nowhere near close and all the Fords of the era had exposed door hinges and a noticable character line stamping around the perimeter of the door.

Studebakers of the time had the front doors hinged at the rear.

The shape of the back of the seat and windshield lean towards studebaker, but the front door hinges make the rust bucket look like they open at the rear (non-suicide). The handle in this photo makes me think they were suicide doors:

Well fellers, this one has been a grinder. :bananadead:

I'm going to say this started out as a early to mid 1920's Nash Touring Car, often called a phaeton back then. These were 4 door open cars as opposed to roadsters which were 2 door cars. Here is a 1925 model.

    1925_Nash_Christopher-Ziemnowicz-automobile.jpg

Note the door hinges and handle on this 1922 model.
The GM cars used a horizontal style hinge and the Fords were on the outside.

    20250510_104733.jpg

Note the separate instruments spread out on the dash on this 1922 model, most other makes had a center module.

    upload_2025-5-11_12-26-18.png

The windshield frame mounts into the cowl on this 1923 model and other years, other makes mounted to the side of the cowl.

Very Impressive, as always! Thank you Sir!

Nice looking car, I never would have guessed a Nash. This one does in fact still have the snaps down the side (2 of them anyway) pictured in the first pic.

I've got a new(re-pop) Ford door you might be interested, it's not the same but would be workable.

Might be if it's close to fitting. Not sure what plans I have for this. My imagination sees this.

    And then there's this...

I got the window frame freed up and the things work, that's about as far as I can go for now.

My back hurts just looking at that. Doesn't look like that's a wet saw. Water helps tremendously with keeping the dust down.

It was a brutal 8hr day. Definitely wish I had just rented a wet saw. The saw my brother lent me was not the move. Spent an hour or so today sweeping and vacuuming. Im sure ill do it 2 or 3x more as it keeps settling. Tried to tape it off, really helped. But only so much

Set it on the nose to see the bottom. Not too many car bodies that can be done like this...:D
I suspected the sheet metal wasn't stock. I wasn't there at the time, contrary to what you all think, but I'm fairly sure the floor was actual floor boards.
Plus, the sheet metal bottom is definitely not the same quality or gauge, has a random break in it, and booger welds throughout. That might be lead paint.

over 100 years old and less rust than a 2 year old Tacoma...

This is the worst of it...

I don't think working doors are needed at all, will prolly just skin the outside and make it all smooth. I also noticed with it being on end that it is crooked. Like 3/4" wider on the side with no door. It does flex easy enough to make that right again. I'll hit up the HMD door shops and scavenge some 16ga sheet metal for the repairs. For now, I'd just like to make the tub straight-ish, hole-less and preserve as much original sheet metal as possible. Another go-kart vision rolled thru my head last night...no title or State Patrol inspection is needed for that.
