Man I worked way harder on the power wire than i ever intended to. I plan on relocating the battery to the bed soon,so this is extra work for temporary gains.Anyways,I wasn't happy with the original location, on the side next to the battery. It was pushing the battery to far towards the motor. I was trying to reuse the original wiring but it was proving to be to short and I ended up having to remake the short side. But I'm happy with the new location, it's out of the way and has plenty of slack that I'm not going to be worried about it.

The battery tie down need to go too.
The truck got excited that I was messing around with it, it's a no name 6.5dB

Hopefully it works well, I'm a little worried about interference i ran the line into the cab with the radio antenna wire.

    Some updates!
@Milota95 was kind enough to welded up a bung on my exhaust for me. I was a leaf to get the AF sensor wired in and routed. I covered it in so heat shielding since I was running it over the transmission. It was the easiest way I could find to route it into the cab. While i was down there I noticed that some of my wire loom looked like it was melting so I covered it too.20250318_123257.jpg 20250318_123310.jpg

Went on a quick overnight camping trip to try out the new setup, the new antenna worked well , while I wasn't at my total camping weight i was pretty close just missing a couple gallons of water. The truck rode better was able to maintain highway speeds a lot easier without the extra weight and drag of the taller shell. Being able to access items from the front of the bed without having to crawl in from the back is nice.
I still miss the contractor cap but I'm going to give this a go for a bit.i still miss the security and awning.
Check out the boss overlander we ran into .their from Canada and plan to get it shipped overseas at some point. 20250319_120155.jpg 20250319_120215.jpg 20250319_131437.jpg 20250319_152043.jpg

I went on a trail run camping trip with some fellow TWers. We ran charlu gap in Tuscan AZ. I was a little nervous as I've heard of people breaking parts on this trail, lucky it came through it with some scratches on my armor , some missing lugs on my tires and the front of my skid was being held on by one bolt by the end of it.
Some take aways form the trail, a dubbler would have been helpful, more rear articulation would be nice , the other first gen had chevy 63's in the back and made it through areas without engaging his locker that I couldn't without my locker or a lot of momentum. But my truck did stay very level and felt well planted though all of it so I'm not sure how nessary it is especially since I can just lock the rear.
I got to try out my camping setup some more. It takes my a couple of minutes to setup and takedown but it's pretty comfortable , I consolidated my cooking gear into my camp chief sherpa. It was collecting dust in my garage, it was nice to be able it keep it in the back of the truck while I was cooking instead of hanging to get tings out of a tote on the ground.
I think I'm going to build a platform in the back again similar to the carpet kit except I'm going to use the extruded aluminum instead of wood, that way I can keep everything in drawers and I'll b3 able to access everything easier. Also i can still sleep in the back if need be.

My sliders and bumper definitely saved my fender.
    20250330_173133.jpg
I've been rocking this mount for a bit . I've been super happy with it. Although I was concerned that the way it was attached was a little cheese but it's been sold and the quad lock keeps my phone from flying off into the depths of my floorboards.
    20250330_091153.jpg
I put in a new fuel pump and filter the truck seems pepier and didn't catch on fire... yet.
Also installed the skid that I've been hoarding for a couple of 3 years. The stocker actually did pretty good tell it didn't. I don't think I've actually hit it much except for the one time I crumpled the front corner. It was funny to see the Chinese writing on the absorption matt.

So that kinda catches me up. I have to redo some of the wiring for my taillights my backup camera is turning on now. I did get a new to me taillight to replace the cracked stock on but the clear is peeling on it.
And I'm getting ready to replace injectors with rebuilt ones and clean out my fuel rails.
    Thanks for looking.

So I sorted out my backup camera issue apparently it dosent work well when hooked upto the brake light. It popped the fuse for my brake lights too.
I got a new back window form softtopper. They made it to big so it doesn't look a tight as the old one. I'm kinda bummed about it but I think if I put the velcro on the tailgate it will make it look better. I also picked up the rod that goes across the bottom too.
    Old taped window.

Drove the truck around for a couple of days getting some last minute parts and tools. There dosent appear to be any leaks so onto the next part. I changed out my injectors for some refurbished ones that were gone though by a local company here in mesa.
Side note there was a electrical repair shop conveniently next door to the injectors place so I had them check out my denso alternator the was smoking and making a bunch of noise when I came back from Utah last. The guys tested it right in front of me, it was of course quite and he said that it was putting out the 110 amps like it's supposed to.... not sure what's going on but something to look into, but in the meantime the stock one keeps chugging along.
The injectors have been replaced and i put in some new plugs while I had some easy access to them. 0230 am is about as far as I push my neighbors with my shenanigans. A rachet is surprisingly loud at that time of night.
    20250423_013815.jpg
And that about as far as I got . My back hurts and I'm working crazy hours for the next week so the truck will be some driveway art in the meantime.
    Thanks for looking.
If anyone knows how to prime the fuel system on a first gen without having to cranked the motor id appreciate the info.

Got the injectors in and new plugs. But I was fighting a lean condition and high idle. I ended up buy a smoke machine after replaces all over my old and cracked vacuum lines. This guy.AutoLine Pro EVAP High Volume... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07JVT1NG2?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share Gotham i dint keep chasing my tail. If you pick one up word to the wise don't mess with the wires inside. Mine broke from looking at it wrong. But I was able to get it rigged up enough to use. But the trucknis running correctly now . I had switch back to the older intake box and maf sensor to eliminate extra variables. So I'll be changing back to the pmas setup now..
I found a good deal on a pair of new corbeau seats on FB marketplace. So I slapped them in. They give a ton more leg room, so much that I had to move the seat forward a bit to be able to push in the clutch. Wich is awesome because my old seats were causing me to get scoliosis from mashing the side down trying to get more room on longer trips. They sit a little lower too , I may try and have them dropped a little lower in the back but otherwise it's a good hight. My biggest grip with them is the low back. But that's a issue I have with a lot of seats. I'm gonna rock these for a bit and eventually get the shleemens.
    20250510_220541.jpg 20250511_095359.jpg 20250511_095529.jpg
The last is a pretty good representation of my seating position.
I do have to pull them back out and clean my carpets and move my amp.
    Thanks for looking.

So today's reminder was to rember the big picture, and make sure that modifications shouldn't affect the function or capacitys of other modifications.
So I was able to get the misses approval on the new seats. She was either gonna love em or hate them was my prediction. Sfter the first time i sat in them. While going for a ride i was able to get her riding position of comfort/tolerance. Luckily I'll still be able to get the frige behind the passenger seat, but I'm gonna have to pull a seat every time I want to take it in or out. It may just become a permanent fixture. 20250512_204020.jpg
I tried moving the amp under the seat but it was proving to be to big to fit.so it's gong back to where I had it ,with some extra slack in the wires. That will have to do tell I have the time to go through the cab and redo the bench and back wall. I'll probably just make a amp cover in the meantime..
I picked up some lens on FB marketplace on the cheap. Changed my pods out to yellow driving combo pattern from clear spots. I'm hoping to get more usage out of the combination. I'm also thinking about moving my ditch lights down to the front bar.
    20250512_194957.jpg

And this little guy was the bane of my existence tell i got the smoke machine. If you look closely you can see the line where the egr mount ended .so I pulled it made a new gasket that matched the mount and was no longer ducking in unmeatered air. It made my truck was so much happier
