Hey fellas, I’ve got a Gen 3 2021 Taco and it’s got a scratch on the middle of the dash. It’s not deep at all but it is enough to be noticeable. I just got in a “Heat Pen” to do heat shrink on wires and circuit board work, and was wondering if I could use that to heat up the damaged area and use some kind of object to get the “pattern” of the dash to match up and ghost the scratch. Does anyone know something I could use to facilitate that? Thanks as always for your help guys!

I wouldn’t put any heat on it.

Honestly, learn to live with the scratch.

when I picked up my 2021 OR double cab with 30k miles on it, all 4 door panels had reallllly bad scratches all over them. I used a heat gun meant for stripping paint and got 3 out of the 4 of them looking much much better. I messed up on one of them and it made the 'pattern' smooth out in on small spot. It's definitely an art. If you absolutely can't live with the scratch, my recommendation would be to buy a cheap Tacoma panel off ebay and practice on it before trying on your dash. You'd really need a heat gun and not a heat pen and it's definitely a 'less is more' situation.

with the exception of a small area right above the glove box, my 2021 OR dash is the same hard plastic that the doors are.
