My truck came with the Toyota brand tri fold hard tonneau- perfect for me.

I’ve had several strong storms and no issues

I was just curious- anyone knows who makes them for Toyota?

    just curious…

I also have that same cover that came with my Pro. It works well and looks good too.

The new rough country tonneau's are likely from the same builder.

More from AI Grok 3: Who makes the Toyota Tacoma OEM Trifold Hard Tonneau Cover PT954-35240

The Toyota Tacoma OEM Trifold Hard Tonneau Cover (PT954-35240) is a genuine Toyota part, but Toyota does not manufacture it directly. Multiple sources indicate that this cover is likely a rebranded version of the BAKFlip MX4, manufactured by BAK Industries, a well-known aftermarket tonneau cover company. Forum discussions on tacoma4g.com note similarities in design and installation between the OEM cover and the BAKFlip MX4, with some users suggesting it’s the same cover with Toyota branding. However, Toyota officially markets it as an OEM accessory, and no definitive public statement from Toyota or BAK Industries confirms the exact manufacturing relationship. Therefore, while strong evidence points to BAK Industries as the likely manufacturer, it’s sold and warranted as a genuine Toyota part
    --------------------
Comparing with my Toyota as delivered, there are some minor differences that I just noticed such as the adjustable strut slide on the panel. Mine is fixed. This may be to allow the BAK Flip MX4 work with additional brands or models. My fixed strut has not been a dissapointment and does not give me any limitations. It just works.

    https://realtruck.com/p/bakflip-mx4-tonneau-cover/v/toyota/tacoma/2024/

RealTruck currently has 18 Hard Tonneau Folding Covers with various differences that would work for specific wants, needs, and wallets with prices between $549.99 to $1,449.99. In looking around the various Toyota Parts sites, I see the OEM model around $1,100 to $1,200.

I had 2 backflips in the past decent covers but be careful putting anything on them as they dent VERY easily. You won't see it until you wash it then the sheen of the water shows all the dents. I laid a socket rail on it and it dented so super soft, hopefully it never sees any hail.

FYI - Looks like Toyota has parts for 15% off for the holiday, and my local dealer is discounting an additional $130, for almost $300 off total. I think I am going to grab one.

When it's fully opened, does it rest against the cab, or can it be locked in the open position and stay away from the cab, like the Undercover Armorflex?
