This weekend's work was fixing my taco lean the correct way. After upgrading all of the suspension for a lowered ride height I ended up with the usual taco lean of 1/2" on the driver's side. Cranked up the driver's coil over to compensate for it like many do but I noticed going over bumps the truck would try to jerk to the right even though everything checked out at the alignment shop. Eventually I decided that the uneven spring rate due to preloading the driver's side for the extra lift was the problem. I figure I'll order a 1/2" spacer and test out my theory. Well that didn't work out well as every spacer I could find stated that they only fit the 6-lug. Ended up buying a small section of 1/2" aluminum plate and 'machining' my own spacers using and angle grinder and my woodworking tools. 5 nicks, 2 scrapes, a pair of burned finger tips and 1 bruise later I had a 5 1/2" aluminum disc with three holes in it that I painted black and fit on top of my coil overs.

Ride quality is day and night. The truck no longer tries to jump to the right over bumps and stays pointed the direction I want it to. All due to a stupid 1/2" thick piece of metal. Ignore the finger prints, I picked it up before the paint had fully cured.

Added a (used) Wilco in bed tire mount.
Had to remove the front rail to get the mount on.
