Taco lean on a 5-lug (fixed)

    Ok, I just swapped out the springs on my coil overs from 550 to 500# and I'm loving how it feels for driving but I noticed that it made the taco lean even worse than before so I'm looking at getting a 1/2" spacer for the driver's side. Everything I've found online says they are not compatible with the 5 lug but I can't find out why. It's just a metal plate to go between the mount and coil over. Is the mounting bolt pattern for the struts different between the 5 and 6 lug or is there some other reason it won't work?

    I guess I'm just wanting to order a pre-made piece, if possible, before ordering a spacer from Send Cut Send. And before anyone says it, yes I am aware that I can just add more pre-load to my driver's side coil over to compensate for the lean, but I would prefer to have both shocks working in the same range.

    I made my own fix. Ordered a piece of 1/2" aluminum plate that I'll just machine to fit. Best part is it still came out a few bucks cheaper than ordering one of the pre-made spacers and hoping it will fit with the coil overs.

    Ok, so I finally got around to 'machining' my spacer over the weekend. Involved the use of an angle grinder, drill press and my router table. I am glad aluminum is soft enough to use woodworking tools on it. Made the spacer to match the top of my Strictly Street coil overs and dropped the pre-load back down 1/2". The driving feel is a night and day difference. The truck no longer fights me when going over bumps, it has stopped trying to jump to the right all the time. Having both springs set the same by using the spacer was well worth the effort.
