That's a nice looking cover. What are the panels made of?

Has anyone bought one of the $400-$500 covers off of Amazon? Of course they are not name brand covers, but if they don't suck, they are a lot cheaper than the covers that you guys are talking about. On my 3rd gen, I had a Toyota cover. It was fine, nothing special, but not trash either.

Their Stance model will be the one that folds vertically behind the cab.

Its not so much that Lomax is better, its just a great alternative. I prefer the way Lomax installs and how much use of the track system it allows continued use of on a Tacoma. Lomax doesn't require drain tubes which is nice when you have a composite bed. We have had great long term feedback with them and they are a great value as well.

Nice...I notice that the panels on the Stance are held up by what look like a rod attached to a clip on the roof. How do the clips attach to the roof?

They aren't elastic... they are plastic and solid.

Brackets adhere with 3M adhesive like used throughout the auto industry to adhere all sorts of plastic pieces. They are also magnetic. They remove without paint damage when needed.

More than I need but still not enough.
+1 for the Lomax. It is a solid cover and you can still use most of the rails for tie downs. Also love how flush it sits with the bed, functional with a really clean look

    Nice...
    next questions:
    • what is the load capacity and weight of the cover?
    • How durable is the urethane finish? The picture shown in your link?
    • Warranty info?

Load capacity is 400 pounds evenly distributed. Evenly distributed weight on a bed cover is hard to achieve. I wouldn't suggest placing significant weight on any normal hard folding cover.

Urethane is similar to a spray in bedliner type material so its pretty durable.

    Warranty is 3 years

just curious how difficult the install is on the LOMAX stance for someone who hasn't self installed a cover before? Thanks for any insight!

Honestly just not difficult at all. I have a 13 year old who can do it in under 30 minutes. Its all clamping and no drill so hard to make a mistake you can't correct, etc.

    Essentials are here: https://www.agricover.com/downloads/pdf/2000111.pdf

I've seen a Taco with Toyota trifold, seemed to play well with power tailgate.

Is the same true for the Extang and Lomax hard trifolds?

My Extang works well with it.

I bought the Lomax Urethane on my 3rd gen from Luke over 2 years ago and 25k miles. I've been excellent and I'll likely buy the same one from Luke again when I get a 4th gen Taco.

Here's a pic that I just took this evening. Looks great after nearly 2.5 years of use. I love how low profile it is, finish has been great and accepts ceramic spray very well to protect it and make it easy to clean. It's also super easy to remove.

Here is a pic of the Lomax urethane on my 4th gen. Had the same cover on my old gladiator. It works/looks great.

Did you install the latch on the roof? Any wind noise?

This one isn't the stance, it is the normal model. With as easy as it is to remove--literally under a minute--I couldn't ever see not removing it if I needed to haul something if it got into the way.
