    Good to see... and hear.
I love watching them and listening to their chittering

We have Tree Swallows and Barn Swallows here.

Tree Swallows have an affinity for streams and bodies of water... you see them there, skimming along eating bugs.
They nest, of course, in tree cavities, of which there are plenty here (cuz woodpeckers).

Barn Swallows, well... human habitations, especially farms.
Lotsa bugs for them to eat on farms.

The vocalizations of Barn Swallows were imprinted on me during my childhood on the farm...
... along with Meadowlarks, Killdeer, Redwing Blackbirds, all manner of Sparrows, etc etc. :)

A lot of that happening, for sure.

Quite the opposite for me and my family. We fled California for two reasons: #1, the politics, and #2, the extreme cost of living. At the risk of crossing the COC in relation to politics, all I will say is that my family and I are polar opposites of what California has become over the last 40 years. We wanted a State that was not likely to be polluted by those same political ideas, and Kentucky is a fairly good place to be. Here, you not only do not need a CCW permit to carry concealed (though you can get one if you like), you can open carry in public! Every few months, I see someone carrying at Walmart, grocery store, pharmacy,......

I gotten banned from at least one "Kentucky Local chat" groups on Social Media for expressing my opposition to some, let's say "California like" opinions expressed in said groups.
