Hello! This is a continuation of my previous post about a clunking sound. On my 1998 prerunner, there is this very inconsistent wobbling/clunky sound from the front left. It only happens at certain speeds, when I’m giving the car some gas. I can feel the thud/clunk on my feet by the pedals too. I tested my LBJ’s and they’re still solid, I just got new tie rod ends(which I thought was the problem because they were very loose), and the alignment was just done as well. I’m not quite sure what the sound could be. Maybe upper ball joints? Inner tie rods? Control arms? Any help would be appreciated!

(edit): it also mainly happens when the suspension components are still cold, like in the morning or the first drive after being off for a while

I would start by just getting under there on a creeper with a flashlight and start looking around for loose bolts etc. I had a small thud that only happened in my driveway and it turns out when I redid my front end (all of it) I forgot to tighten a sway bar link all the way. Take your time, look for obvious signs of wear or grease splatter. Have somebody in the truck turn the wheel while your looking around. Could be a loose skid plate or something simple as well. So many possibilities.

Yeah I’m hoping it’s nothing major. I feel like it definitely has something to do with the suspension. It’s most prominent when going over light bumps at a constant speed. If I hit a bump hard, I don’t hear it, if I hit a bump much softer, it’s fine, but with the right amount of force on the suspension components, I’ll hear it.
