Now this was a clutch explosion.



Don Garlits in 1970 this little disaster spelled the end of the front engine dragster and cost Garlits part of his foot.

Had a young lady come into the shop on a very busy evening once and with a waiting room full of customers waiting for us to finish up their vehicles, said these tires you sold me are junk, one just blew up, well taking care of the customer, pulled the vehicle up to a bay and started looking for a blown out or damaged tire, only found a tire in great shape with a small screw in the center of the tread, so after her showing her ass and making a big stink about it and me being me, I rolled the tire/wheel up to the waiting area in front of everybody and asked if this was the tire she said had blown out and she said yes, I said are you sure cause this one is in great shape (showing everyone the tire) and only has a small screw in it that any tire could pick up... Yeah, people were giggling and smiling... She changed her tone real fast after that...

Moral of the story, one persons blown up is another's inconvenience...

Once knew a guy who talked about getting fired from his previous job (little did he know that he was about to get canned from the current gig too).

He said that in his anger, he cranked up his Tahoe and intended to lay 11s out of the parking lot. So he floored it, dropped the column to D... and then walked back into his former employer to ask if they would kindly call a tow truck.

Yea I’m thinking the bell housing acted as the fuse in this situation, so hopefully the gearbox itself is still serviceable.

 

One time. I did this. But it’s apparently a common thing when the clutch went out on that car. Incidentally,
No flute went in my pussy.
