I’m specifically talking about the one on the grille

I was going to plasti dip it to complete the black out look, without having to tape anything off or risk getting overspray somewhere

    TIA

Open the hood. there 3 tabs, two on either side near the top (plus a guide between them) that can be accessed from inside (it's a tight fit, you may have to use a bike tire lever or something similar) push them toward the centre of the logo. with those two released you can just pop the bottom one out. I did 3 coats of matt black plastidip, very happy with the results.

Looks great. Is there a reason you went with plasti-dip rather than a high quality matte paint? I was just going to paint it.

No real reason other than it seems to be what others have done in the past. Also, if I didn't like the outcome I could reverse the results by pealing off the plastidip.

I’ve painted one and plastidipped one. The plastidip held up better, but perhaps I should have researched a better way to paint it: I thoroughly sanded it, cleaned it, and rattle-canned it with a Rustoleum 2-in-1 paint and primer that said it was usable on plastic, and it chipped really quickly. Maybe if I used a separate paint and plastic primer then used a 2k clearcoat it would have held up longer.

If you plastidip it, apply several layers. The more layers you put on, the easier it is to peel off if you ever want to redo it.
