The same principle apples to even setting up a table saw... not only squaring up the blade up and down but front to back etc. Most of it won't matter until you try to do precision stuff. I'll still be lurking and learning!

It's cool STV provides a precisely cut "tool" to correctly space your limit switches.

The 'M' stands for Modular whereas the 'P' is for Pro.

With delivery of the motors expected tomorrow, I thought I'd start knocking out the other little things in the meantime.

    20250513_125913.jpg

Y axis on the left side.

    20250513_130357.jpg

Distance calls for something between 0.010" to 0.035".

    20250513_125007.jpg

    20250513_125012.jpg

Y axis on the right side.

    20250513_132213.jpg

Z axis is already mounted since it's standard equipment.

    20250513_131340.jpg

And here's X axis; calls for a measurement of 4 5/8" to the center of the switch.

    20250513_133917.jpg

I really need to figure out a solution for the control box. It's large like a mid-size ATX case, but seems to favor being mounted on it's side due to the small rubber feet.

They're more like isolation pads for mounting it upright via the keyhole slots, but I can't utilize such mounting solutions.

I looked at "PC case stands" and they're all too narrow to fit my case.

The mini PC is less of a concern as I'll probably do some sort of mount to go along with the monitor.

    Hmm....ideas?

Here's the small workspace I've got.

    20250513_134523.jpg

Air dryer is most likely going under the CNC table along with the plasma cutter. The bench is mostly all used up on top along with the rolling cart underneath so I can't relocate those. Although maybe I could use the space underneath and relocate the tools on the cart...decisions.

The water holding tank is also there temporarily, as it will also go underneath the CNC table.

I’ve been making something it’s just not my usual. The wife said “let’s make a boat” so I haven’t seen my machines in quite a while. At least not for fun!

If there's anything I can say about STV's customer support, it's "holy fuck".

This is what I paid for - standard 1:1 motor gearing.

    20250514_113255.jpg

This is what I got in return for what I call a genuine error and minor inconvenience.

    20250514_110928.jpg

They really sent me their $1k upgraded gear reduction kit all at no cost.

I've never seen 1,000IPM but I will now

I can't imagine any other company going that far above and beyond just because.

    They are so much fun.

What. I did was treat it like conduit. Ran a fish tape through an pulled the cables through with out unsnapping all the cross bars.

On the plus side, STV actually snapped half them off already for each drag chain.

The pain in the ass part is running the torch cable last! It's crazy thick and made it a pain running that plug through.

    She's about done though.

I bought a small AV single component stand to place my control box on, and place it under the table. Air dryer will sit close to it as well.

Then I think I'll move forward with sealing the pan together!

Got all the wiring coiled up for the meanwhile but I found a small AV stand that'll work perfect for placing the controller on top of.

Arrives Monday so until then, I think I'll see about how I'll run the air dryer underneath and the hoses.

Hoping I can find some time to seal up the waterbeds too.

Had to order 90 degree fittings for my air dryer; current quick disconnects are too tall and won't allow me to connect an air hose :bananadead:

Boring update, but with some progress.

90 degree fittings arrived for my air dryer, so that's all plumbed up now.

Won't have much time today so tomorrow I'm hoping to seal the pans.

    20250517_082917.jpg

Wiped everything down with acetone, and just to be safe I laid down painter's tape all the way down the center support.

    20250517_103822.jpg

    20250517_103806.jpg

Since I'm using 3M Marine 5200, it's supposed to be a really strong and permanent solution. Didn't want to risk getting the pan attached to the center support in the event that I need to disassemble anything and/or remove the water pan.
