I've been searching till my eyes bled. It doesn't appear that there is much in the way of stock leaf spring replacements that don't break the bank. I'd go so far as maybe a 1" lift but no more. Toyota wants over $500 per side, the Deavers J66's are up there as well and reduce the load capacity. Has anyone found a suitable replacement?

My main leaf broke and I'm dead in the water. My 2012 DCORSB doesn't really see any offroading and I tow a tiny kayak trailer which weighs next to nothing. If I can keep the load capacity at the stock rating I'll be very happy.

Rust never sleeps in rural upstate NY.....

Edit***** The dealer wants $795 each.....

If you weren’t so far I’d hook you up. I think my old packs are laying outside my brother’s shop…

Another thing you could try is a scrap yard set. Second and third gen, I believe, are the same. If you could find a low mileage set, that would get you by, but you won't know if they've been loaded heavy.

Personally, I'm of the belief that it's worth it to spend the money and get new.

Cut & broke off stuff. Prolific ziptie and tape usage.
Wasn't there a recall or was it just a service bulletin? Seems like I remember a notice back around maybe 2016.

Run your Vin through the Toyota owners website. There was a rear spring recall campaign. See if yours were ever replaced. My '08 was replaced in '15, prior to my ownership. Worth a shot....

Thanks and I appreciate the thought.

There was, up to 2011. So close yet so far.

I agree but in this case cost and selection don't leave me with many choices.

What about a lightly used set off a newer 3rd gen? I got a set for free. That’s $795 less than the dealer wants…

I came across a pair of 2006 revised leaf spring take offs, from a frame replacement. They are 3+1 and have shackles. Sound pretty good?

Alcan got back to me. Rounding up, $1000 for springs that are the same rating as the stock ones, plus shipping with a 5-6 week lead time. For me, that's not going to work. Oh well....

I think General Spring makes a OE replacement for around $180 per side.

Go with the original replacements. A few years ago I picked up a like new pair of the TSB replacements from a scrap yard for like $200 and an hour drive. I wound up cutting down the stock 2-leafs and added a leaf to those TSB replacements. Factory add-a leafs.

I'm probably going to go for the General Springs. I'm dead in the water now and need to get back on the road ASAP.

Anyone know what size the bolts for the spring & shackle are?

Have you checked FB marketplace? From my regular searches for aftermarket upgraded leaf springs I'm always seeing OEM stock take offs in good condition for cheap.

Yep, I've been searching there and found one possible set off a 2022 with about 10K on them. With transportation now being an issue, I'm more inclined to bite the bullet and order the ones from General Spring.

Uh, we are on the east coast. Just curious, what would they cost to ship to NY?
