i would get an OEM one. i also have spray in bed liner from factory. i want one basicly because its easier on your knees crawling in and out. and it keeps stuff from sliding around. the aftermarket ones seem to follow the ribs of the bed.

I had an OEM in my 3rd gen, loved it, so I put an OEM in my ‘24 Tacoma (which also has the spray in bed liner……… was actually PO’d that I couldn’t just transfer the OEM bed liner from the 3rd gen to the 4th gen…..

having said that, I bought the LAS fit floor mats, and prefer them over the WeatherTechs………so LASFit is a well made product line………

Yeah it kills my knees too. But the tailgate is the worst offender. Does anyone make tailgate liners from materials like gatorstep?

It's an additional sprayed on coating, not a textured composite bed.
The coating is even sprayed inside the heads of the small star bolts on the forward bed side tie-down hooks, making it difficult to use a star bit to remove or replace the hooks.
That coating is thin, but it's very hard and tough.

I like a slick bed surface better, with a heavy bed mat to cover it.

The rubber bed mat keeps small items from sliding, but when you need to load really heavy items, the rubber bed mat can be taken out and dropped in the driveway, making it easier to slide in that heavy cargo like crates, pallets of rocks or blocks, etc.

Check out the bed step. I never thought I'd like one ..but it works great..easy step up on the open tailgate.

    ^^^ This

I've had one on my 3rd gen for years. Love it.

Aftermarket on Amazon can be as good quality for a lot less $$$. My OEM Toyota one failed after a few years - fortunately as I was stepping up rather than down. Bought a knock off and it's indistinguishable from the OEM.

Apparently Toyota OEM bed mats are simply not gettable, along with accessories like door edge guards, etc. Probably disruption of the supply chain, etc., but I got a BedRug XLT, i think it will work great.

I purchased my truck April 2024..an oem bed mat was included in the deal..it arrived early Dec 2024. I assumed the shortage was over.

My 2025 also came with one as almost all at the dealership had. If there's a shortage for customers to buy, it's probably because the dealerships are getting that money up front by installing them in vehicles before the sale.

Good luck avoiding it in the Gulf States region.

Google toyota regional distributor map. Gulf states and southeast are some of the worst with load port installed accessories onto the trucks. Hell the SET even came up with their own trim package called XP.
