Trying to diagnose something - on a V6 - is it OK to disable more than 1 cyl at a time if I just idle the car (not going to drive it)?

Also - do I need to disable the fuel also or can I just disable the ignition to that cylinder? Thanks.

Your fine as long as you don't do it for too long.

If you unplug the coil it will disable the injector on that cylinder after a few secs and set a P035x code where x is the cyl number.

Ideally I unplug the injector, its safer, but it will cut fuel to it in seconds like dm93 says.

Some people take the spark plug completely out too right? That' limits the risk of the fuel causing it to hydrolock?

Your never gona get enough fuel in there with the engine running to hydrolock it unless you just had an injector hang wide open and even then it would be pretty unlikely.

What kind of issue are you chasing anyway that you need to disable cylinders?
