I was trying to drain and replace my coolant today, and ran into an issue. When I tried loosening the engine block drain plug, it just snapped off. image.jpgThe good news is that there doesn’t seem to be any coolant leaking from it (wet spots are pb blaster overspray), bad news is that I have no idea what to do now. Just refill what I drained from the radiator and call it good? Would definitely appreciate any advice y’all have, I’m learning as I go with this truck.

Yeah, I'd replace the coolant and move on.
Remember the old saying, if it ain't broke, fix it till it is.

That’s what I was leaning towards, just don’t know how important it is to drain and replace all the coolant vs most of it.

If you're worried about it, replace what you can, drive it a couple of weeks and do it again. In my opinion, you'll be pretty good at that point.
I do the same thing with my power steering reservoir. I pull the bottom line and drain the res and refill. I do this a couple of times a year and the fluid still looks brand new. If you can't do a full flush, this is a good alternative.

It’s not really. Make sure the radiator is full and call it good

If you are worried about it, maybe have it welded shut. If it snapped, the extraction process won't be easy or pretty.

Thanks y’all, I appreciate the replies. I think I’ll do what @winkel said, and just keep an eye on it over the next couple weeks.

Can the whole valve be replaced? It kind of looks like it would unscrew from the engine block.

Scrubbed some tires, and knocked a dent out.

You should be able to remove that valve from the block and replace it. I would get a new one from Toyota and soak that one in a penetrating oil to get it loose.
