You don't need the bolts. The radio has clips that hold it in snug! 1" long will do just fine!

They are 8mmx1.25mm thread pitchx 20mm long. I just ordered some. I am actually using metric allen socket headed bolts instead of the 10mm hex head bolts.

Around $26,000 worth of unleaded in the fuel tank.
An M8 bolt on a Tacoma will accept a 12mm socket. The M8 size refers to the 8mm diameter of the threaded portion not the tool used on it.

The 4 bolts that fasten the radio take an 8mm socket, but they are probably M6 bolts, and that is the size you will look for when shopping for the bolts.

Arise from the dead, old thread!

Toyota uses JIS bolts - the head size vs thread size are slightly different for JIS vs common metric, flanges are slightly different too (lots of body and frame bolts are JIS flanged for example).

There are several suppliers of JIS for reasonable prices and larger hardware aisles also often have them these days.

I posted the info about the fastener dimensions because I see many posts on here and elsewhere stating "It's a 14mm bolt" because it takes a 14mm socket etc. Once you start seeking a bolt or a tap, you hopefully realize it is not a 14mm bolt you need.

Sometimes the JIS fasteners have markings on them to indicate JIS. It's probably best to get some from the junkyard since the dealership will charge many dollars for a nut or bolt.
