Just brought home the 25 trd. When it plays a text from my iphone it only goes to the left speaker and the music keeps playing in all the other speakers. Even turned all the way up it’s really hard to hear. Has anyone found a fix that stops the music like a phone call does?

Hmmm...mine doesn't do that, it cuts out any other sound but the text msg. However, I am a Pixel/Android user, not sure if that's relevant.

Mine does the same as the OP. I’m not a fan of the Toyota infotainment system at all… love the truck otherwise.

Me neither, lacks polish/reliability for the price we're paying for the vehicle

Higher a receptionist and take that truck wheeling, you bought a lifestyle vehicle not a mobile office.

After trial & error, I discovered that I could adjust the volume of text read-back only when the text was being read. Intuitive, I guess.

Overall, the infotainment is at least light years ahead of the old Entunes that we’ll see floating around in 100’s of thousands of used Tacomas for the next 30 years, so it’s all relative.

Tap volume button to mute the music, tap again to unmute, since Toyota isn't going to do a software update.

You could also try turning the balance knob to mute the channel that isn't the text.

I believe there is a setting in the CarPlay settings that says something like “pause audio” when reading notifications. I think, but it may only be for podcasts and stuff now that I think about it.

While Siri is reading your text turn up the volume knob to your desired loudness and you should be good. But I agree. My other vehicles mute or pause my music while my test is being read
