Even if you are going to pay cash, don't tell them that. Some dealers make money on the financing and may give you a better price if they think they can make it up on the loan. Once the deal is struck and you are working with the finance guy, change your mind and write a check (or pull out stacks of twenties, if that's your thing).

This will be the 3rd vehicle I've bought from them. I have worked this deal in several ways and there isn't much incentive to finance this time. I've been 100% debt free for several years now and there would have to be a reasonable incentive to do the loan (there isn't one this time... which seems unusual). I'm happy with the deal they gave me.... right around $14k to upgrade.

One of the other dealers sent me an offer today to trade my '23 in and pay them $20221 balance..... and that's with then giving me $37k for my current truck.

There's only so much juice you can squeeze from an orange. Prepare yourself for all of the BS they try to sell you while in the finance office.

EDIT: try and get them to throw in mud flaps if they aren't already on the truck.

As it's a local dealer he's worked with before and likely will work with again, I'd do this different.

On a prior deal where I was prepared to pay cash, I asked how long until they got their financing spiff - three months was the answer. We worked up the deal, wrote the financing, and everyone happy. At three months I paid off the loan. This was a few years ago so rates weren't high and it didn't cost much in interest.

It helps a little with stuff sliding around, but it also makes the bed a lot more durable. I still bought a mat because I actually really like how it works on the 2nd/3rd gen.

    Belt & suspenders. :D

Eight years with a bed mat in my 3rd gen and never have been concerned with bed durability.

If I'm gonna need a bed mat to keep stuff from sliding anyway, I hope to find one without the bedliner but that's likely to be difficult without going outside SET/GST region.

I debated between the spray-in liner and a bed mat. I had a bed mat before and liked the anti-slip it provided but when I would haul yard debris I would get dirt, twigs, and rocks under the mat. PITA to remove, clean, and put back in. I was thinking the spray-in would give me the anti-slip I wanted and then I could easily blow or hose out the bed easily.

Instead I got the bed divider. I can slide it back and forth to keep what I want near the front (or back) and easily bungee stuff to it for more security (if needed). It's aluminum, so it's light and easy to remove. I can also pivot it 90deg so I can slide full length items underneath without having to remove it altogether.

I was thinking of adding a bed divider too, which one did you go with?

I've hauled plastic crates where it rubbed against the wheel wheel well in the bed and easily scrapped it and dug into the bed. I get it, it's a truck so I didn't care much, but it would be nice if there was more abrasion resistance on the composite bed material.

The bed liner option is $575, which includes the tailgate, i'm not going to sweat that over the course of truck ownership. to me, it was another one of those small upgrades that I appreciate on the 4th gen.

Yeah, I guess there's some wear at the wheel wells and tailgate. Just hadn't really paid attention.

Here in SETD territory the Port Pirates mark up the same bed liner to $699.

That sucks! I do think it's still worth the upcharge. Here you see just how thick it is.

Dealer confirmed they got the allocation for me. They also offered me $38k on my current truck for a total difference OTD of $13971. I'd only save $108 selling to Carvana now so I'm going to trade the truck in to make the transaction a little smoother.

New truck should be in Memorial Day week. I've already sold the bed cover, TRD shift knob and black chrome tip and will put that $500 toward bed cover, mud guards, floor mats and bed mat. I may pull the side steps off too. ;)
