That brings back some memories! I was stationed in Key West, and the drive home to Ohio was a solid 20 hours. Red Bull and No-Doz.

    5 days? Now you’re talking! Key West - Ohio - Colorado - LA was 5 days. Drive - rest - drive - rest - drive. o_O

Oh - and then there was Panama…:mudding:

All in my ‘89 Toyota pick-up. Those were the days.

I'll never take nodoz again, just don't take like 6+ of them and you will be fine.

I would love to drive to Panama, but I think things are too restless nowadays for that. I don't know.

Thank you! No it's not a roof top tent. I've debated long and hard and ultimately decided against RTTs.

It's a SWAG - they are very popular in Australia. it's made by Oztent and this model is the Bunker Pro. It sets up in minutes and it's nice that is off the groud - perfect of rocky/sandy ground.

ugh...tell me about the space they take, that is the only big drawback of them. Even if I camp solo, I so wanted an RV-3 for the space but the damn thing is too long to even fit in my 5' bed. As much as possible, my goal is to not have to carry anything on the top of my cover which forced me to get the Bunker. I've used it several times now (I have other lighter tents for remote/bike/backcountry camping) and like it a lot.

I like these better than the other plate with wings that screws together. These individual ones provide access to the trans pan. I removed the plate with wings to figure out what turned out to be rodents having eaten one of the wiring harnesses. The front of the plate is attached to the cross member using 3 long bolts that thread into a rectangular plate (guess their size and fact they don’t have nuts to hold them in place makes them screws?) that sits atop the cross member. A couple of those bolts had seized and, since I wasn’t in a temperament to “gently” remove them I used a grinder. Anyway, my 2 cents.

Moved my propane to inside my bed and put the fuel back outside. At the Helm makes double jerry can holders and yes, you can put some foam in there to make the Rotopax fit better and not rattle.
