Got a few questions regarding my Magnuson supercharger setup.

Truck info: 2001 Tacoma, V6, 4x4, TRD OffRoad, Manual Trans

Supercharger and URD Piggyback ECU/7th injector/fuel pump upgrade installed at 99k miles, curent millage 131k

First question I have is about URD Supergrip Crankshaft pulley. What kind of gains will this thing give? I bought it with the supercharger kit back in 2018 but never installed it. I just stumbled across it in the garage and want to install it soon but curious if it has any noticable gains (and is it CA legal I dont want to have to remove it for smog).

I currently run 2.2in pulley with the stock setup on the URD Piggyback ECU/7th Injector (and upgraded fuel pump from the kit). Im currious if the stock motor can handle the 2.1 or 2.0 pulley. Im assuming I can keep up with fuel needs from 7th injector but I dont want to damage the motor for a little extra boost. Does anyone have any insight here? Can stock internals handle those smaller pulleys? If not what mods would I need. I dont really want to go water meth route. Seems like a hastle but if anyone has experience with that setup Id love to hear about it

Thanks for sharing! @Speedytech7 would love your thoughts on this? Can I handle a 2.1 or 2.0 pulley or is that a bad idea long term?

I'd strongly recommend getting a AFR gauge installed so that you can see how the engine behaves, and make your choices from there. The stock internals will be fine.

URD 7th injector provides poor performance TBH and not CARB/Cali legal, I’ll say that much. You can easily fail visual if the tech know what they’re doing.

A supercharge pulley upgrade outside of the factory specs will also cause a fail visual BTW. Can the engine handle a 2.1/2.0 pulley, the answer is yes but depends on how you drive. Anything forced induction done will put the motor closer to liability due to driving habits and engine management (running lean). With that in mind, yes, a red URD CS pulley sticks out like an eyesore and can cause you to fail the visual inspection as you had alter the engine’s performance.

BTW, in CA, if you fail a visual inspection, you can get referred to a BAR/REF inspection. BAR/REF inspection will make your life a living hell as they tend to by very thorough with emission. I seen them failed cars because the vacuum line weren’t spec or using non-compliance fuel line replacement.

Oh Im fully aware. I remove 7th injector and fuel line for it and tuck away wiring harness for the injector for smog as well as switch back to stock black 2.37 pulley. Its a pretty quick job. The URD ECU itself is in passenger floor kick pannel so not in any view. I have quite a few gauges that need sensors and the wiring is all bundled through the stock firewall grommet so nothing looks out of the ordinary. Once the injector, fuel line, and cables are gone its just stock supercharger which is carb legal. Been fine for past 7 years

I do have an AFR gauge already, probably due for a recalibration but that shouldnt be too bad. I typically run around 14.7 at idle and low throttle. Once 7th injector kicks in at im in low 13s - high 12s. WOT usually 12.6-12.8
