I'm trying install a dash cam wiring kit in my '13. The kit has wires for both constant power and for ACC power and it needs both to work correctly.

The problem is that there are only two constant power fuses in the secondary fuse box and only one ACC powered fuse in there. And they are all right next to each other so there is no way to get two add-a-fuse taps in there side by side.

The only other option I can think of would be to tap into the fuse box in the engine bay but that would require a way to port in the firewall to get the wires inside the cab. I don't think that is possible.

    Any ideas?

I presume the dashcam would be mounted high on the windshield near the rearview mirror. Have you checked your overhead console to see if you have an unused connector?

No. I haven't looked there. Didn't even know there was power up there. But the dashcam kit's three wires (ground, 12+, and ACC) are all together on the unit, so I'd have to be able to get all three wires connected up there in the overhead console. Seems like a stretch.

I had an unused connector in mine. The connector had all three necessary electrical points. You may or may not have a connector up there but it worth a look. Sure beats having to run wires from the dash to the headliner.

Can you tell me exactly where to look in the overhead console?

I found the connector taped to the headliner inside this area. Tacomaworld.png

On mine Ignition, Tail Lights, and Door Locks are always hot for sure, maybe others with ground subject to cpu controlled off-timer(lights, pwr windows).
For my truck I added an 8-way panel fed by #10 wire from a 40A fuse on my auxiliary fuse panel tray there. I didn’t want to have multiple add-a-fuses inside nor have the total for any slot exceed 20A. I split the panel buss and powered the second half using the circuit for the power outlets which I reconnected to the always hot side of the new panel. Added 4 total #10 wires to that location with one for an interior ground buss under the stick and the other 2 as spares to save redoing the looming and routing for more should I need them.
Things supplied by that panel are:
Seat heaters(main pwr always hot, switch pwr ign hot)
    Heated rr mirrors(same as above)
Upgraded power outlet on passenger side of the console (always hot)
    Ride Rite solenoid switches(ignition hot)
Wherever possible, high amp draws are fed by the 40A supply with the previous 10A power outlet circuit only used for low current circuits or to trigger relays so no high currents through switches.
    Also under there are:
A dump valve for the air bags so I can drop the tailgate for loading or hooking up a trailer.
A backup Schrader valve in case I need an option to refill the bags.
Solenoid switches and air lines to the bags.
Relays and control modules for the heaters.
Split panel on a sliding mount.
    Ground buss.
I removed the yellow tabs from the cup holder panel so it still locks in place but is no harder to R&R than the small cubby interior fuse panel cover. The split panel is on a sliding mount(I just made slots rather than holes) so it would miss the rear cup holder yet still be able to access all 8 fuses. That’s the only thing readily accessible. The rest requires pulling the rear and middle console sections to access. I haven’t used it much but I acquired a 400W inverter I might mount under the rear since wiring is already there.

Thanks. I just checked. I dont have an unused connector up there in that spot. The connector that is there goes to the mirror I guess for dimming and for the back up camera. Not sure what to do at this point.
