Hey all, was there a change in 60/40 seat design in the 1st gen Tacomas? Or is the same 60/40 seat used in a 1995-2000 the same seat in the 2001-2004? I am specifically looking for a 60/40 to put into my 2001 standard cab and just about every seat I see says it fits a 1995-2000 Tacoma so it seems like there may be a new seat that came out in the 2000's? If anyone has pics of a stock 60/40 in a 2001 standard cab I would love to see it to compare. Thanks in advance.

The upholstery changed for sure, and maybe the foam as well, but as far as I know the bolt pattern is the same for all 1st gen 60/40 and bucket seats.

The difference might have to do with occupancy sensors? I think early trucks had them only on the driver's side, later trucks might have had them on the passenger's side as well.

Did the single cabs ever even come with 60/40 benches? I don't think I have ever seen anything other than the 1-piece bench or bucket seats in them. It should fit either way, though.

This is what the 60/40 split bench looked like in a 2001 (2001-2004 I think?) on an Xtra cab. The fabric is different, and you get a little extra storage place in the arm rest. The whole center flips down instead of the armrest folding into a little cubby.
