Inner CV axle boot popped out (my fault) how to put back on!?

Thing is greasy as hell. There’s a metal clamp with no way to LOOSEN it. Yes I’ve tried needle nose pliers. Advice greatly appreciated.

Clip the clamp with some dykes.
Slide boot back on and install new clamp.
Or Zip tie it until you get a new clamp.

As posted in the other thread. Find the lip of the clamp and pry up with a flat blade screwdriver, or just cut the clamp with side cutters: https://www.tacomaworld.com/posts/30628767

Something to consider, how long has it been that way?
Could have dirt, debris, moisture, etc, imbedded in the grease & boot.
That being said, got nothing to loose, worse case you replace the axle later if it gives you issue...

    Got it, easy repair...
They do make specific tools though to correctly deal with the various style clamps, makes life easier...
I bought them early on I think before I even got my first job as a tech, everyone at the shop borrows them so I guess they have their place...
CV's were not my departments skill set but over remove many half shafts while getting to various components, clutch jobs, engine swaps, etc...
