Let’s see some subwoofer setups!

From the demos that I’ve seen on YouTube, it seems to everything you need on a basic level. If you’re an audiophile then you’re much better off with a DSP with a computer driven adjustment interface. I just need it for setting my cross overs and maybe time alignment experimentation. Though I am very interested in the sequenced remote turn on feature.

I’ll try to remember to chime in here in this thread when I get to tuning

 

Ooo, I like that sub box and I could reuse the 10" from my 3rd gen JL Stealthbox. Does your truck have the factory 14" radio screen? Obviously you don't have the hybrid trim with all that underseat storage.

 

This truck does have the factory 14", but can do the same with the 8"....
I didnt replace the radio, really no replacement options right now....
My amps are mounted on the rear wall behind the plastics where the factory POS jbl sub use to sit...

 

That's what I figured. I don't think the 14" screen is a separate option from the JBL.

 

No idea but as stated, radio size or jbl or non jbl doesnt hinder you from doing what I did....

a box & a sub....

 

I know it's possible with either setup. I was hoping I could get the 14" screen without the JBL as I could integrate my amps and speakers from my 3rd gen. It's just more work and added expense to gut the JBL. The end result is very nice though.

 

Ive forgotten all the ins & outs of the trims from my research...
But ill have to speculate & also agree with you...

Did you have to relocate any connectors under the seat to get that amp to fit?

 

Negative, fits great as long as you take your time checking range of motion with the seat.

So the ranger dual 10" box I posted in post 1053....
We blew the back apart as the builder has the rear back offset so the back is 2 pieces going across...
That joint blew apart...
After the builder repaired the box & tossed in some re-inforcement braces, before reinstalling the box I added 2 lbs of Acousta Stuf Polyfill in the box cuz I was hoping for more & my son is liking the sound of my 12 tw3....
Ougggggghhhhhhh my god, in this situation with these hertz mps250's, the subs performance is night & day difference, ide say 3x more impressive, sounds like a completely different system.....

So I put 1 lb of the same stuff in my tacoma ground shaker box with the 12" tw3 & felt that it actually made things worse & not better....
I feel that the tw3 performs so well when it comes to the boomy deep stuff, it actually took the punch away, not as loud, & also the deeper stuff also suffered...
Maybe cuz the groundshaker 12 tw3 box is slightly to big for that driver, not sure...
Needless to say I removed the poly fill from that enclosure but wow the ford ranger is stupid now, easily sounds like 2 12's to my ear...

Did this fit in the cubby hole without any cutting? Are you happy with it?

 

It fits great in the passenger cuddy, but in the driver cubby it puts this sub face touching the cubby front wall. The passenger cubby is about an inch wider front to back than the driver.

Im throughly enjoying it. Plenty of bass for me without disturbing someone in their house as I drive past.

 

Thanks, im looking for something similar without have to cut the cubby. I was debating on putting a kicker in a JBL OEM Taco box that i found to see how it does. I may reach out to MrMarv though

 

Finishing up a JL10 and platform going in back of 04 extra cab. Should be done tomorrow.
