4th Gen Solar Octane Club!

Haven't had the Toyos on for very long, and almost no snow here in Calgary. (Had to drive around to find a spot for the photo- haha. )
I'm sure that they will be great in loose snow, but on ice won't compare to a dedicated ice/snow tire that has more sipes and a softer compound.

 

Any Solar trucks on white wheels?

Mine's Solar Octane. Do I win a thing?

Old picture, though. I've got running boards and a tonneau cover now, though.

 

The colour looks especially striking during the "golden hour".

 

After going from a 22' Lunar Rock to 24' Solar Octane I find the Toyota's naming of these colors pretty spot. Both change in appearance a fair amount depending on conditions in the sky. Dusk or dawn in particular really make these colors pop.

 

I couldn’t resist. I traded my old 2006 TRD-OR in on a 2024 TRD-OR Solar Octane. I was going to buy a hold over model from a dealership about two hours away and they sold it the night before I had the test drive scheduled. I found one a little further away. When I got there it had the upgraded screen and that was a plus. I almost backed out when I saw my 06 through the window when they were checking it out. I told myself what I would pay different. The sales guy was 6k away, I laughed and held out my hand to shake and said I didn’t want to waste his time. We went back and forth a couple times and I told him that it wasn’t a negotiation on my side. I came in with a very conservative number thinking they would take it. They came in to talk to him about my old truck and he said, looks like we have a deal. They priced my old Tacoma at almost 16k.
