So plugged in scanner got P030085&P030027 as well as the P030000 misfire code. It’s a 2023 Tacoma w/ 50k miles. Anyone had any experience with this? So just bought this truck less than 4k miles ago and found in history it’s thrown this code 3 other times over last yr. It happened to me accelerating from stop sign shuttered, eng light flash. Pull over turn off turn back on after a min and drove fine after that. So this is an intermittent problem. I’m taking to dealership Friday since under warranty and obviously need answers, but curious has anyone else had something like this? Read the Avalon and Camry had similar issue and was a software issue, wishful thinking but any info welcome.

Good on you for taking it in, I wouldnt wait till Friday...
Could be misfiring regardless if the light is on or not & youre just damaging your cats if youre continuing to drive it..

Could be the ACIS manifold flap failure. I'm creeping up on 50k, so keeping an eye out for this.

Have them check in the intake manifold for rattling noises and signs of broken plastic before they go telling you that you need an engine rebuild or injectors or something.

Other than that, poke around under the hood/firewall/body. Check for signs of damaged/chewed on wire harnesses.

P0300 can often mean the computer is recognizing a misfire but having a hard time specifying a cylinder

Not trying sound like a jerk but regardless of it still being under warranty.. unless you pay for some diagnostic time dont expect the dealership to actually spend any time on it. They'll probably just want to futz around with coils and plugs and waste your time

It may indeed need coils and/or plugs but they likely won't spend time doing anything time consuming like compression or leakdown checks. That would just inch them closer to finding an expensive mechanical/internal problem and they'd be on the hook for that type of expensive work too

Not likely a software issue. Pull the plastic engine cover and take a close look (ideally with a borescope) at the fuel injector wires under the intake manifold. Look for evidence of mouse nesting.

Does your scanner have a misfire counter function? If so you can check if one cylinder is misfiring distinctly more often than the other five.
