Pretty sure that's the one I got , 900$ installed myself. Cat sensors still haven't set . Replaced both , I'm thinking I have a broken wire on rear sensor

FYI, just because the dealer says they're "discontinued", doesn't mean it is. A lot of times parts are backordered and dealers don't want to deal with the hassle of ordering it for you. Cat converters are backordered, not discontinued.

Pic of my source. He can get "discontinued" parts.

Did you do the process needed to reset the monitors, or did you just drive 80 miles? There's a certain to reset the monitors on these trucks.

That's gotta be Joe Joe huh, I remember him saying that on FB that discontinued usually means backordered. Would make sense considering how in-demand they are with all the theft happening in recent years.

Yeah I have the FSM procedure for setting the monitors and it never worked for me either, neither did driving over 1000 miles. Cataclean in the tank, 4lo for a couple minutes and they suddenly go green. It's weird but I've had to do it twice now to pass smog in the last 4 years. Just waiting for that dreaded P0420 code to come back, but until then I'll milk these Magnaflows for all their worth.

Aw damn. I had to ask cause I didn't know there was a strict procedure you had to follow. Fortunately it worked for me.

.. you do know when you buy from those FB "bros" or w.e,
that they buy from the 2 above sites
    (y'all seem to ignore)

Spoof the ECU and move on.
Probe the O2 wires while its on with a Multi-meter and emulate the signal via analog circuit or Arduino controller.

Use a quality resonator and baffled muffler.

I had two codes wouldn't set , one was cats , other was evap . Old smog guy replaced the thermostat ( I had a low temp in it cause I used to work on paving jobs) to stock temp . Bam set evap sensor immediately lol so weird.

shit and here I was thinking the point of exhaust valves was to open to expel fully burnt mixtures 90 degrees after the compression stroke was over

On newer engines, the exhaust cam is phased to adjust overlap and cylinder fill.. "evacuation". however you call it.
During Idle and start up cat-warming sequence.

It functions as EGR, in addition to 10-15% power adder up top.
Volvo/Ford makes use of this - for example. Your Saab might, as well.
    (you tune that thing?)

Obviates the need for the EGR passage/pipe and valve , which often become clogged.

Ive had this one on since june of last year with no problems. I had a code before and cleared it afterwards and has never came back on. Its an exact match. My truck is an 03 with the 3.4

I know its a cheapo but it works, the first gens emission standards aren't like they are on the newer vehicles so you can get away with putting cheapos on them. Newer vehicles you have to put down the big bucks for the cat because they need to meet emissions Screenshot_20231205_225842_eBay.jpg

At least here in CA it also depends on your model year, 2000+ vehicles just get an OBDII scan and visual check when getting smogged. 1999 and older have to get put on the dyno and have the sniffer/exhaust gases measured, which can lead to a failed smog even if you don't have any trouble codes.

If anyone cares/wants to check out
There is a old school (family owned) shop that specializes in RV’s (class A & B) and muscle cars
(I love going to the shop bc of the customer cars there and check them out)

They have a great AM vendor (nationwide) of cats
I have ‘paid’ for these cats from this vendor 50+ times
In addition, paid for stolen RV cat(ford V10)….13 months later owner returned bc of CE lite
This vendor warrantied the part (with proper documentation) in one day
Of course my insurance company had to pay labor to re-install
Just nice to see that a warranty honored…..from ANYONE now a days
Cool too bc only 2 employees answer the sales phone!

    If anyone needs….PM me
I will call Kendrick’s Automotive in Hou TX….and get cat vendor’s name contact information NP

That looks like you ordered yours from Ebay? Most companies are not allowed to ship to states such as California.
If and when the time comes for me to replace mine, sounds like Ebay might be the best option for OEM
