TRD Performance Exhaust Part # ?

Mine came with a chrome TRD slip on type single tip. I would have rather had the black one; goes better with the color.

 

Yeah different colors but the same exhaust tip.

 

I'm referring to the twin tip. Which is a single pipe from the muffler, over the rear end, and terminating in a dual tip.

I think that is a complete system from the cat back. I believe it consists of 3 pipes. I just want the tail pipe.

 

No that's just the tailpipe... $1k msrp but can be found at some dealers for less. I like the look of the dual tips but can't justify $1k on a piece of exhaust pipe and dual tips.

If it sound like the pro then it’s worth it because non pro Tacomas sound like Corolla’s. I’m talking external exhaust sounds and not the fake sounds in the interior which sounds great.

Just so I understand this correctly, can you buy just tail pipe section that appears to be resonator delete with the dual black tips?

I think that's correct also. I think PT226-35241-02 is the part but Im confirming it with Benny on Tacoma4g. I'll respond back when he confirms.

Also, 4th of July sales will be coming in a month.

 

My big question still remains.....will the twin tip tail pipe fit on a long bed?

 

honestly kinda doubt it, the performance exhaust is made for the Pro which only comes in a 5ft bed, while the other highest trim in the TH got the off-road pipe. There's only one other way to find out.

 

It's an accessory for the off road short bed. The short bed and long bed share the same part # for the stock exhaust pipe aft of the muffler. So I'm assuming if the twin tip pipe fits a short bed..it will fit a long bed. But I know what happens when we assume..lol

 

And if I'm gonna buy this tail pipe, I want to get it before any price increases that might be coming.

 

Well I ordered the twin tip tail pipe,PT226-35241-02, on Monday, from my local dealer,not knowing if it would fit my 2024 Sport long bed. Well it arrived today. I can confirm it fits.

It is slightly louder at idle..with drivers window down,I noticed it as soon as I started it up. Not going to wake the neighbour's though..lol. Driving around town..it is slightly louder when pulling away from a traffic light..again not bothersome. Haven't been on the highway yet to see if there is any drone. I'm a happy camper and relieved it fit.
