Man, I got no experience with 3M 5200 so I'm going to let it sit the entire 4-7 days to cure

When I looked the stuff up, boat forums kept popping up and there's a ton of varying experiences when dealing with the stuff. Climate of course is going to be the biggest factor when it comes to curing.

Since it's dry where I'm at, it's taking longer and apparently one thing you can do to speed things up is by misting it with water. Apparently the agents within the silicone will react and help it to cure as it's meant for over the water as well as under the water use (even salt water).

Then I have to give Flex Seal however long it takes so we're still right in line with that 2.5 week time frame I gave last week :boink:

Which I have to add, the posts from boat owners on those forums seem to be really angry all the time

I also might stupidly cut a larger Raptor just because. And by larger I mean bigger than this :anonymous:

When it's up and ready maybe I'll have you send some filler plates for the slider kick out.

It stresses me out every time my dog steps on the bar to jump out of the truck, I'm afraid she'll slip and bust a leg. Was also quite comical watching my buddy's mom climb in yesterday, she's only like 4'8 and a little on the heavy side so the extra obstacle wasn't helpful, same worry about a slip causing havoc on the shins or a knee.

Friend of mine asked exactly for some filler plates recently - yeah dude some 1/8" will easily fill that void while also being strong AF.

You can shoot me over measurements already and I can just draw them up.

Last thing you need is someone (or even your dog) fucking themselves up like that. I just wish I had a shop press cause I think dimples on those filler plates looks pretty cool.

As for the dino, you know I ship them as a parts kits right? ;)

Took a long time to get to 73k mi tho, that's like a 2007 model and not a turbo, so N52, which is a very long living engine normally

Popped up in my feed, and well I discouraged myself from reading the comments (they can be ruthless, poor owner is just down on his luck).

But here's the background on the car posted on reddit -

"2011 325i (N52B25AF) mileage at 118K kilometers. I bought this car used about 8 months ago at 103K kilometers. Upon getting the car I've replaced the usual N52 parts that fail including the water pump, valve cover, oil pan gasket, fuel pump (cracked housing). The oil was changed when I got the car at 103k and again at 112k.

OFHG was not leaking, serpentine belt is still on there after the engine failure, so it did not ingest the belt.

I accelerated into a roundabout and at around 3K RPM the engine suddenly started sounded really rough, and within 10 seconds as I was trying to pull over at a safe spot, the engine seized and engine oil was pouring out.

I had no warning symptoms (other than a permanent lifter tick). No check engine light, no oil pressure warnings before failing. Oil level indicates "max" last I checked 2 days ago.

I'm at a loss, what could've caused my engine to fail so catastrophically in just a couple seconds? I'm sure I need a new engine because in the second picture I see chunks of metal lying in the pool of oil on top of the underbody panel."

Dude seemed to be on top of things when he first got it.

You know that little guy with a pitchfork that sits on your shoulder at times?

Naw I don't want to fill it only to drain it again for when I run the Flex Seal over it all. I had too look up the active ingredients as Zane mentioned yesterday and fortunately Flex Seal is perfectly safe to use over the silicone.

However, it can slow down and/or stop the curing process on the silicone if I coat it now. Trust me, I'm anxious AF to not only get started on using my table but also fulfilling multiple orders I've got waiting for me. Everything from a few bed stiffener sets, an art sculpture, some custom motor bike mounts, rear upper link mounts, filler plates, flanges, and most importantly test cuts before all of the above.

You're welcome to come help! Although watching paint dry or seeing the grass grow will probably be more fun than waiting for silicone to cure!

I don't have much experience to say, but the most I've worked on a BMW is my brother's :bananadead:

Think it's that same engine mentioned above, also NA.

Oil pump nut came undone and the gear spun off i bet. It's chain drive and in the pan, common to pin or tack weld the gear to the nut to prevent this

    @TACOTU3

If you ever get yourself a table, I'd be happy to show you all the ins and outs of running it. Setting it up, dialing in test cuts, pre-requisites needed, and more.

On the plus side, you've got a nearby neighbor that knows CAD really well.
