I'm not so sure we want CarPlay Ultra. It is embedded in your system and really controls your truck. One good thing is that you cannot upgrade CarPlay to CarPlay Ultra.

I don't need anyone watching (or listening) to my music. And if it ain't broke, I ain't gonna fix it.

My "Apple Car Play" is a 5G video iPod, that plugs into the USB Port in my Taco. I replaced the hard drive with a two 64 GB CF Cards, and boom... All my music is there.. controlled from the factory HU.

Car Manufacturers will have less data to collect from their customers with this upgrade. Majority of user data will be with Apple so I’m not so sure if they will be happy with that. Car companies collect valuable customer input in their infotainment for future developments.

Not to worry, nothing is really changing on the vehicle. Auto manufacturers will be able to collect just as much data and sell it without consent. The only thing that's changing is what data is being shared to CarPlay and how it interacts with the displays.

My state sells personal information, so I'm okay with Toyota doing the same.
