Hello i ran into problem with trying to install a 6112 suspension on my 2023 toyota tacoma trd off road 4x4. When i installed the old top hat and placed the strut assembly in and put the wheels back on. The top is loose and i am unable to tighten the nut anymore to compress the rubber piece. I had tightened it before hand and it was compressed before putting wheels on and dropping the truck. Not sure what i did wrong during the install and would appreciate any advice thanks!

I feel like you're missing one cushion, one is on top, but there should be one inside the mount as well.

Did you install the collar spacer?

I did install the spacer. When i was compressing the spring i ended up putting the spring upside down but since both sides seem similar i figured it would be ok thats the only thing i can think of.

The bushing that goes between the shock and the top hat comes with the top hat and the new one is for on top of the top hat. I believe it is glued in place in the OEM top hat but they often come loose.

Also make sure you have the cup washer under the bushing.

The washer should be in the right position, but Ill double check. In order to decompress the stock spring i loosened the LCA and dropped it slowly. when placing the new one i jacked it up and torqued them to spec not sure if that can be related to my issue cause the rubber was compressed before putting wheels on and dropping it.

I just installed 6112s on my 2022 a few days ago. Yours really looks like the rubber bushing under the top hat is missing to me but it could also be split/damaged. Seems really new for that to be the case though, my 2022s were still in good shape.
