I would have to put a hole through the firewall to get it into the cab though right?

Nope. Look where the rubber thing is where all the other cables go through the fire wall. Puncture it and run the kill switch wires through there.

Silenced air tag installed. Check youtube for the simple instructions.

Puncturing a hole in the firewall grommet is the #1 cause I get wiring issues in the shop. People using a coat hanger or fish to push through the grommet and end up shorting two wires together in one of the worst places to cut and splice wires. I would highly suggest drilling a new hole and installing a grommet for that wire.

That thing is so big that damaging another wire can be very well avoided. Drilling the firewall is an alteration that could void insurance! It is a firewall! I ran around 8 wire pairs through that rubber thing with no issues.

A hole in the grommet will cause the same issues as a hole in the firewall that is sealed with a grommet. I have ran many of wires through the firewall grommet myself but suggesting others do it is very risky.

I'd move to an area where the crime rate is low. It must suck to never know if your truck is still where you last parked it.

Don't know if thieves care or what not, my android phone tells me if there is an air tag following me. But have thought about it.

Let it tell you. If you’re the thief and the tag is silenced good luck finding it and you are prolly going to bail on the truck. Or you’re a stupid thief and will regret the day your mama birthed you when the owner and his posse arrive at your chop shop.

IF you were to have an engine fire and IF you were to get burned and IF your insurance company could link the burn you received to be the result of a hole drilled in the firewall, then yes, it could cause issues. I would much rather advise someone take that risk than to run a coat hanger through a grommet that houses a harness that costs over $10,000 to replace if a wire gets cut or nicked and causes a short.

Needless to further comment. Just pop your hear in the footwell and look for yourself how big the grommet is and how far away from the stock wiring you actually can route the kill switch wiring. Who damages the stock wiring in the process should not do mechanical work at all.
