A little back story. A guy buys this truck and keeps for 20+ years before he decides to sell it. He sells it to his buddy to be his buddy's sons first truck and the son totals it. I need a good work truck and can see the potential in this. I also don't know if there is any damage to the pillar behind the passenger door. I was told it has less than 100k miles and its a 2wd. Do you think I should take it on or pass?

Without a 'parts truck' that's gonna be a little pricey project IMO.:notsure:

Take as in free, sure why not....
Looks like every panel need to be replaced...
Not sure how far youre wanting to take it inregards to visual completion.
Crappy pics, no idea of what the frame looks like, etc....

Every panel? The driver side doesn't have a dent on it. I was told the frame wasn't bent, but all hearsay. I also didn't take the pictures.

Free? It would make a good project or parts truck. Being 2WD I would not be interested, you said work truck.

Sad step-side noises. Neat that it has a solid back window, but yeah a new fender & door and likely the rear of the cab will need a body puller to get it straight again judging by the rest of the damage. Maybe a flat bed? Expensive to fix all that..

The answer is yours to base on a few things.

    Price?

Is 2wd ok for your needs?

Your skills, tool set and work space matter.

    Are you in a hurry?

Will a regular bed fit that frame and make an 'ok' match to the cab?

Do you care if it has mismatched colors on various panels? If yes, would you be willing to DIY with something like www.monstaliner.com ?

You mentioned totalled. Will your carrier insure a salvage titled vehicle? Some will not.

I think it's a 4 wheel drive . I see letters on the mud flaps.

Yeah, good call. That could have turned into a $$$ pit pretty fast. Good parts truck tho...
