I have the same gripe with the beach driving pass on Hatteras Island in NC. I never understand why you can’t just do it day by day.

Hell I'd pay $50 for a day pass, $180 is just steep for the 3-4 days I'd use it

That’s why I stopped getting the Assateague Island one.

I will be at Outerbanks for a week in July and was going to look into the beaches there.

It’s the same thing there. You have to buy a pass for a week and they require minimum equipment so you can dig yourself out. I can’t remember how much it costs off the top of my head but I think it was under $100.

I stopped getting it because I always only went out onto the beach like once a week in the truck so it was a waste of money for me.

Then I probably won’t be beach driving then… still taking the truck since the pup loves it lol

lol well that’s definitely a good reason to take the truck!

Yeah I got the beach pass the first year I had the taco and then regretted spending the money. I feel like you would have to drive on the beach like 3 or 4 days to get your money’s worth. Plus it was annoying making sure I had all their “required” stuff even though I knew I wouldn’t need any of it because of my other mods like lift and tires.

I've thought about getting that Surf Fishing Permit but that's about it! lol

I'd love to drive my truck in the sand...and that's about it! lol

I'm scheduled for a Beach Day on Friday June 27th...which is a day before my Bday.

I'll trek over to the Indian River Inlet Bridge to Body Surf/Boogie Board and then head over to Claws for 1/2 dozen Blue Crab for lunch.

But first, getting through this Memorial Day Weekend...which is our eldest daughter's Bday weekend.

That's why I'm on the road by 7am on the day of my trek to the beach.

Even if those out-of-staters up north leave same time as me, my starting point is 38 miles south to Rehoboth & another 5 miles to Indian River Outlet.

Been doing this planning for several years now.

When I was in sales my territory went from Dover down to Newport News, VA and living in North Wilmington meant that I got to sit in ALL the beach traffic over the summer... Used to be a such a nightmare on Friday's I started taking home office days or single appointments rather than venturing south. Return trips were rarely a problem tho.

Good morning Delaware + Friends. :pccoffee:

A divided 2-lane highway with cross-section for left/u-turns has been quite the experience.

They constructed one overpass just on the outskirts of southern Dover...and working on another 24+ miles further south.

I'm baffled how people are in such a hurry...and goodness, it's OK for them to overtake but don't let anyone else do it! lol

I pretty much yield to avoid accidents/confrontation...it's just not worth the agro...plus, I wanna have a good day! lol

So, welcome to Friday and a Happy Memorial Day Weekend.

Our eldest was born on this weekend circa 1990...and our youngest born the day after Christmas 4 years later.

So, when those special days come along...we prepare as best we can. :D   :) :alien:

I understand that… well kinda, I usually start my drive to Philly annoyed with a slow person in front. It’s a single lane road for 10+miles and lots of people want to go under the speed limit, even at 4am.

I try not to be annoyed lol
