Went off grid for a minute and came back to where I parked and this is my diff leakage:

I guess I’ll just clean it up, continue to monitor it, and top off here and there. I mean theoretically it can only drain so much right?

 

All we are getting in the great state of Michigan as of the last couple of weeks. No idea why. It’s awful. I don’t think it can even burn my eyeballs out.

 

most of our break clean is pretty weak…
I usually use Maxima contact cleaner on the Moto bikes as it’s not as harsh, and if I need something stronger, I get Berryman B12 In an aerosol can.
That’s the strongest stuff I’ve come across in this state… it’s pretty aggressive

 

All of Canada had to stop selling chlorinated brake clean last year. Supposed to be better for health and the environment, but now we just have to use twice as much

 

Eh I quit using chlorinated a long time ago since if you use it to clean up before welding ya know the whole chlorine gas thing. But I just use the crc pro cans which seem to still work great.

 

I use acetone to clean for welding. But we buy the big pales of cleaner and fill the pump can things

 

x2 on acetone only. i buy it in 5 gallon barrels. i use a plunger can and spray bottles. if you've never used a plunger can to wet your rags, it's life changing.

 

I've never had a plunger can. What makes it so great?

 

It's fast, one hand operated, and controlled. You can keep it right next to you on the welding table. I used to just grab the spray bottle and hit a rag, but it always ends up with some overspray. Not a big deal unless you're working around parts and surfaces you don't want acetone on. If you're working on a bare chassis on a fixture table, it's probably not going to be very useful. I so think I benefit from it more when I'm working on smaller stainless and aluminum TIG projects.

 

I’ve always used these for acetone and brake clean, cheaper to buy consumables in bulk and don’t need to worry about melting plastic bottles on the welding table.

Been meaning to try one of those out. My only worry/question is do they hold pressure for an hour or so, or does it bleed off pretty quick sitting there unused?

 

The shop I used to work in had these for each tech. They would hold pressure for days if not used often.

just gotta make sure you get ones with the right seals, as the new chlorine-free brake clean messed up a bunch of my pump bottles and i had to replace them with the upgraded kind.

 

Mine hold pressure for months. Basically only recharge them when I run out of the fluid in them.

 

Those of you with rear glass, Can you show me how you mounted your fuel fill neck? I got some bedsides without the fuel location on them. I want to do something like a flush mount, like this: Newton Flush Cap Angled Neck, A36ANL44LFK or Boyd CNC Machined Universal Flush Mount Bed Floor Fill Kit – Boyd Welding LLC. Or just come through the bed, I have JD fab towers, and prefer to keep the fuel setup "stock" for SMOG purposes. I currently have 2" mcneil glass with fuel location, and scored the fiberwerx 6" for cheap.

Towed the boat again. Further drive this time. I need to put about an inch into the coolovers since they've broken in, but even still, the sag is not awful. Happy that I don't think I'll have to go the auxiliary air shock route while I'm towing.
