I bought a 2017 Tacoma. It had 04b02 on it. I installed Techstream. Did health check. It said there's an update available. I've located the 04b04 CUW outside of Techstream and flashed it using Techstreams CUW utility. I performed health check again. It says correctly that I'm on 04b04, but it also says there's an update available. So it looks like there is another newer calibration available? OR is Techstream lying to me? lol. So I bought a 2 day pass professional to TIS. I can login in to TIS via the website and when searching for TSBs, the latest I can find is the one mentioning 04b04. But nothing newer.

From within Techstream, I click on the Update > yes link, and it opens a window with a login screen for TIS. It asks me to select user type. TTEN, TMS, Dealer.. etc. I've tried all user types and my login fails. I thought buying the pro pass would allow me to login with Techstream to view/download the latest calibration. Does anybody know what step I might be missing? Am I wrong in thinking the pro pass will allow me to login via Techstream to retrieve the latest updated calibration when clicking the calibration > update > yes button?

I've opened a ticket with TIS support. But the submission page says they'll get back to you within two days. Probably after my pass has expired. lol. So I thought I'd check here. Thanks

What calibration ID does it show? We never use the update button inside techstream, we always refer to the cal-id and then check the tsb list.

There were numerous updates to the early 3rd gens so it may just be crossed up.

Thanks for the help! In Techstream, it shows 8966304b0400, then update next it. Similar for transmission. I was wondering if it might just be a glitch.

Before I manually updated it from 04b02 to 04b04.. the same screen showed Calibration ID 8966304B0200, with update next to it. Checking after the update brought up the current screen attached.

Searching the tsb list doesn't return anything newer.. but I could be searching wrong. Thanks!

You're up to date for firmware, you're seeing the update available for the block heater usage up north. It doesnt update the transmission but its lumped with the engine software.

There is no reason to update for the block heater error unless you have one.

    Eggsellent! Thanks!

I was searching the TIS website wrong. I searched for 04b04 etc.. instead of searching for the entire calibration ID 8966304b0400. Found several. Curious the block heater update takes it to 04b06. But I don't see any TSB prescribing 04b05 as a fix. Wonder what 04b05 "fixed".

If I get a response from TIS on logging in via Techstream, I'll pass any solution along.
